School Support Envelope At St. Pius X we strongly value a Catholic education and support its mission: St. Pius X School is committed to the principle that each child is a special human being who deserves to be loved and respected as an individual. Our teachers and administration encourage students to reach their maximum potential academically, socially, morally and spiritually. The Finance Committee recommends having a monthly School Support Envelope for any parishioner who would like to help defray the cost of teaching our Catholic faith to young people. Remember Your Parish It is important to have a Last Will & Testament. We ask you to keep St. Pius X in mind when you make out your will. For more information about Legacy giving, please contact the Office of Development for the Diocese of Paterson at Ext. 290 or visit Kidney Donor Needed A very close friend is in dire need of a kidney transplant. Please call Julie Poulin at if you are potentially interested in becoming a donor. Being a kidney donor has become much easier. A blood test will be done to determine the donor s blood type. The kidney is removed laparoscopically, minimum hospital stay and back to work in three weeks. All expenses are paid by the person receiving the kidney. Being a donor will save a life! Being a donor will change your life knowing you saved another life! Thank you for your consideration.

2 Living Loved Forever I trust in you, O Lord, I say, You are my God. My times are in your hand. Psalm 31:14-15 Time is measured in seconds, minutes and hours. It s also measured in days, weeks, months and years. Sometimes, though, we measure time by what s happening in our lives. We call them the times or seasons in our life a season of joy or a time of loss. It is comforting to know that no matter what time we find ourselves in, God s love for us remains the same. It does not change with our circumstances. We can confidently trust the God who holds us close always. Peace & Blessings, Fr. Mark Seminarian Corner In Sunday s Gospel reading it records some of Jesus last words to His closest followers before the crucifixion. His primary message is the same one we heard in the second reading: Love one another. We have already seen that love is more than a feeling. Christian love is about giving oneself over to others and giving oneself completely over to God. It is only love of God working in us that makes it possible for us to truly love. We show God s love best when we are in right relationship with God. Sin separates us from God, and we must work on getting back into right relationship with Him. When we let God s love fill us and flow over on to others, then it is amazing what God can do through us. When we have the love of God, we can change the world and bring others closer to God. This week let us regularly offer this simple but beautiful prayer: God, help me to know your love and share it with others. Frank Lennie, Seminarian The Gift of Many Tongues As the Holy Spirit filled the disciples and the gathered crowds, all heard God s Word preached, each in his or her own language. This gift of many tongues was a sign of God s desire for all to know his love, and all to be faithful stewards. Our celebration of Pentecost this year (weekend of May 19 th & 20 th ) will be enhanced by a Multi- Language Liturgy. If you speak a language other than English and wish to speak a prayer in that tongue at one of the Masses, please call or e mail Maryann at the Ministry House, or office@st-pius-x.org. Blessed Mother Memorial Garden In order to commemorate and honor a loved one that has passed, the Blessed Mother Memorial Garden has been built alongside the Blessed Mother s Rosary Prayer Garden. This Memorial Garden will be dedicated to all your loved ones and all the parishioners who have given so much to St. Pius X Church and have passed. Every time you come to Church, there will be a convenient opportunity to pray for them. This Memorial Garden will give you the opportunity to honor and remember a loved one simply by purchasing a Memorial Brick. The cost of each brick is $ It s simple to do. Please complete the form that is available in the vestibule of the Church or on our website and return it to the Ministry House. For more information or if you have questions, please contact the Ministry House. RCIA The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process the Roman Catholic Church has for the introduction of the faith and the formation of new adult members. The candidates will learn about their spiritual path in Christ culminating at the Easter Vigil. If you are an adult seeking Baptism, Confirmation or Eucharist, please contact Peter O Brien at the Ministry House.

Dr. Michele Dimaira We the Knights wish to pay tribute to a beautiful family taking leave of our parish and moving to serve in a new parish in the Philadelphia area. We all know Dr. Michele Dimaira as the pretty lady who often reads to us from Scripture, sings in the Church Choir with her beautifully sensitive voice and shows example as the perfect mom to two handsome teenage gentlemen, who also sing and serve at the 10:30 am Mass. Together with her husband, Dr. Louis DiPede, so often very involved in the background of all kinds of events, and the boys, this family has contributed emotionally, spiritually and financially to almost every parish activity. As we wonder who will take their place, we know that they will bring the spirit and their many gifts to a new group that will be made stronger by their presence. Dr. Michelle and her husband, both nationally known dentists are leaving their work at Rutgers School of Medicine and Dentistry to take up positions at Temple University, Maurice Kornberg School of Dentistry. Michele recently said she is following her dream of greater academic involvement as she begins her role as Director of the Post-Graduate Clinic Periodontics and Oral Implantology and Dr. Louis will be serving as Assistant Dean for Advanced Clinical Care. As impressive as their titles seem, they remain loving parents, amazing Christians doing Christ s work of healing and most of all, our friends. As we reflect on the departure of this family, we enthusiastically welcome two new members of the Knights of Columbus, Richard Heim and Justin Mostecki, who both made their first degree with us last Tuesday. We hope their new commitment to serving as the hands of Christ in our community bring them the same rewards it has brought to us. St. Francis reminds us that it is in giving that we receive and for many of us the Knights have become the place to share our giving. OneMontville Green In Day: May 18 th Luminaries! St. Pius X School Registration At St. Pius X School, we echo these sentiments in all that we do to provide our students with the most comprehensive and well-rounded Catholic education possible. Challenging our students to dream big, to work diligently, to respect themselves and others and to make the most of their God-given abilities are an integral part of the educational foundation that our faculty and staff promote daily. Being able to deliver this experience, while instilling faith and values in a nurturing and caring environment, makes a St. Pius X School education second to none. Please call the school office, , to make an appointment to visit the school. School Musical, Annie Jr., May 17 th & 18 th Tickets On Sale After All Masses In Narthex, $10 Sr. June Morrissey Annual Golf Outing, May 21 st Dear Wonderful Friends, The Golf Committee has kindly asked me to join you and celebrate our years together at St. Pius X School. I could not refuse the invitation, but with one exception. The event had to be a celebration of each of us children, faculty and parents. We enjoyed an atmosphere of love and respect, which was a better part of each of us joined to make a tremendous team. Each one of us was blessed to live in this spirit. Please join the Golf Committee on May 21 st. Let s come together to support the tradition of a Catholic School Education. Let a St. Pius X School graduate carry the words within their being forever, I am larger, better than I thought; I did not know I held so much goodness. So please remember this is a Celebration of each of us. When you love a child, your heart is touched. When you treasure a Catholic School that nourishes the goodness of a child, you are a blessing. Let s all come together and be proud of what we do for precious humans beings, our children. I will be blessed once again to be in the presence of great people who value a Catholic School Education and I look forward to meeting new parents and your friends. With Much Love, Sister June Morrissey
