If you are an adult (18 years or older) and you answered Yes to any one of these questions, then the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is for you. The RCIA is a faith journey in which you deepen your relationship with God and make friendships with other candidates and team members through bible study, faith sharing, and learning about the teachings of the Catholic Church. Adults are then fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. Proudly introduces R & R Please join us today for the 2nd of a 3 part series ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL at the Schneider Parish Center from 9:15am 10:45 am; which is held at the same time as our PREP classes. It is our intention to provide the parents of our PREP students, as well as all other adults in the parish, an opportunity to grow in their knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of our Catholic faith. The series titled FLESH AND BLOOD NEEDS FLESH AND BLOOD is presented by parishioner, Patrick Fleming, M.T.S. Patrick has achieved his Master s Degree in Theological studies from The Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at the Catholic University of America. Free will offerings will be gratefully accepted. Refreshments will be served. OLC Children's Church We are offering a Children's Church (ages 3-5) that will take place each Sunday morning during both the 8:00 am Mass and the 11:00 am Mass. Children will be escorted downstairs by Parent and Teen Volunteers after the Opening Prayer, enjoy learning about the Gospel on their level, and then return during Communion. Pastoral Council news: We are happy to announce two new additions to our Pastoral Council. Anita O Meara, a long-time member of the parish and a lawyer has been invited to join the Council by Fr.

5 Pastoral Council news: We are happy to announce two new additions to our Pastoral Council. Anita O Meara, a long-time member of the parish and a lawyer has been invited to join the Council by Fr. Eschbach, to whom she has and will continue to offer informal legal advice. Tom Shaw who recently joined the parish offered to be Fr. Eschbach s personal representative to the various Rebuilt groups that are being established in the parish. As such, he will be an ex officio member of Council, bringing a wealth of business experience to its deliberations. While Deacon Gene Favinger has always been an ex officio member of Council, his listing among the members of Council has been an oversight for which we apologize and has been corrected in this issue of the Bulletin. As a parish we are blessed and most grateful for the willing service offered by Anita, Tom, and Deacon Gene, as well as all of our Pastoral Council members. PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY Please remember in your prayers all of the men and women who are serving our country in the armed forces. Lord, protect them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen. OLC-ELC Our 3 s and 4 s classes have had a terrific start to the school year! This week we look forward to our 2 s Sneak-a-Peek and welcoming them to our Early Learning Center. We will be selling Kid Stuff Coupon Books through the end of the month. Each book is filled with valuable coupons for shopping, family activities, and food! Families quickly save more than the $25 cost of the book and our school receives a 50% profit from the sale of each book! PRAYER GROUP NEWS Our Lady of Consolation Charismatic Prayer Group meet every Thursday Evening at 7:30 in the church. On the first Thursday of the month we meet with St. Joe s in Downingtown. The mission of the Prayer Group is to give thanks and praise to God through Prayer, Praise and Song. We intercede for the needs of our Priest, Parish and Community. As we gather together we use the gifts of the Holy Spirit including tongues, word gifts, such as prophecy, laying on of hands, and teaching. All of these gifts serve to build up the community of God. If you are interested in learning more about the Holy Spirit and the use of the gifts, or just want to move closer to the Lord, please join us. Father Barron is an outstanding speaker and is widely known for using modern media to rekindle interest in our Catholic faith. The goal of this series is to help deepen your understanding of Jesus, make you more familiar with Scripture, and assist you in recognizing the priestly, prophetic, and kingly aspects of your own mission here on earth. This six-week class meets Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 pm at the Schneider Parish Center. It begins 10/9/14 and concludes 11/13/14. Each session includes a DVD presentation followed by discussion in small groups.
