The faithful servant is put in charge of many things after overcoming all the troubles brought him by perishable things. He glories in the eternal joys of his heavenly dwelling. He is brought completely into the joy of his master when he is taken into his eternal home and joined to the company of angels. His inner joy at his gift is such that there is no longer any external perishable thing that can cause him sorrow." Book of Remembrance Not only on All Souls Day but for the entire month of November, a remembrance book will be placed in front of our statue of St. Joseph, in which anyone may write the name of a deceased family member or friend. We will pray for them at each mass during November, the month of All Souls. Eternal Joys, by Gregory the Great Thanksgiving Food Drive Ends This Weekend! Please bring your donation of food to the St. Joseph Room no later than 4:00 PM this Sunday, November 19th. Monetary donations for the purchase of turkeys and hams may be brought to the Parish Office. Thanksgiving Day Mass Join the Holy Cross Parish family in giving thanks to God for all of our blessings. Thanksgiving Day Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM in the Church. O Lord, we thank you for all of our blessings, our hearts overflow in praise and worship! Christmas Flower Donations Included in your packet of offertory envelopes is the Christmas Flower Donation envelope. We appreciate your donations that help us manage the cost of decorating our church for Christmas. Please consider helping us prepare a fitting place to welcome the Lord.

2 November 19, 2017 Page 2 #623 Hospitality Sunday We will have Hospitality Sunday, following the 10:30 Mass this Sunday, November 19th, in the St. Joseph Room. Join us for refreshments and spend time with other parishioners. As we approach Thanksgiving, let us take a moment to consider all the blessings we receive from God, and how we in turn, thank God for those blessings. Stars For Jesus The Stars for Jesus Boards will be set up on this weekend. Please take a star, sign the clipboard with the star number, as well as your name and phone number. All gifts are to be returned wrapped with the star attached! Donations should be brought to the St Joseph Room, using the outside lower level stairwell, between the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM. Return the gifts any day until Sunday, December 10th. Your kindness and generosity will help a child or a disabled adult have a Blessed Christmas. Knights of Columbus at Holy Cross The Knights of Columbus Red Bank Council #3187 will be conducting a Membership Drive after all masses this weekend and will be on hand to speak with gentlemen over the age of 18 who may be interested in becoming Knights. As Knights, we serve our local parish and community while working each day to create a better world through charity. Close of The Fatima Anniversary Year In honor of the closing of the Fatima 100th Anniversary Year, Holy Cross will have special prayers after the 12 noon mass on Sunday, November 26th. Please try to join us if you can. Charismatic Healing Mass The Healing Shepherd Prayer Group invites all to attend a Charismatic Healing Mass on Monday, November 27th at 8:00 PM in Holy Cross Church. We will open the 2018 Mass Book and begin accepting mass intentions in December. Please consider a Memorial Votive Candle to commemorate a loved one. Advent Wreath Making Join us on Sunday, December 3rd, in the St. Joseph Room for Advent Wreath Making. In less than half an hour, your family will assemble an Advent Wreath with live greens and begin marking the weeks of preparation for Christmas. The cost for the materials is $25 per family. Everyone who sends in a registration form by November 24th will be guaranteed a wreath. The registration form is available on the Holy Cross website. The Holy Cross Parish Retreat The Holy Cross Parish Retreat is quickly approaching! Plan on joining us on Tuesday, December 5th, 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM at Saint Alfonso Retreat House, West Long Branch, $35/person includes lunch and refreshments. Three Redemptorist priests will preach the retreat which concludes with Mass at 2:30 PM. Confession will be available. Please contact the Parish Office to register. Unbroken Warriors, was established to provide veterans that are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) the means to pursue effective residential treatment through various proved therapeutic techniques.
