3 Affirmation of faith Philippians 2:5-11 Leader: All: What do the Scriptures teach us about Jesus Christ? That he, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross! 4 Call to confession taken from Romans 3, 1 John 1 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. 9 Sermon Notes From Resurrection to New Creation Isaiah 65:17-25 Jesus resurrection ushers in: 1. a new creation all of creation will be made whole. (vv. 17, 25) 2. a new community our identity and our relationships will be healed. (vv , 24) 3. a new calling our lives will finally be fruitful and never frustrating. (vv ) Big Idea: What began Easter morning with Jesus resurrection comes to fulfillment in a new creation, a new community, and a new calling.
