3 THE SOLID ROCK P/W My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace. In ev'ry high and stormy gale my anchor holds within the veil. His oath, His covenant, His blood support me in the whelming flood. 4 MY HEART IS FILLED WITH THANKFULNESS My heart is filled with thankfulness to Him who bore my pain, Who plumbed the depths of my disgrace and gave me life again; Who crushed my curse of sinfulness and clothed me in His light, And wrote His law of righteousness with pow'r upon my heart. 5 He Never Failed Me Yet I will sing of God s mercy. Every day, every hour, He gives me pow r. I will sing and give thanks to Him for all the dangers, toils, and snares that He has brought me out. BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD ABOVE Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea, A great High Priest whose name is Love, whoever lives and pleads for me. When Satan tempts me to despair, and tells me of the guilt within, Upward I look and see Him there who made an end to all my sin. 6 HERE IS LOVE Here is love, vast as the ocean, lovingkindness as the flood; When the Prince of Life, our Ransom, shed for us His precious blood. Who His love will not remember? Who can cease to sing His praise? He can never be forgotten throughout heav n s eternal days. On the mount of crucifixion, fountains opened deep and wide; Through the floodgates of God s mercy flowed a vast and gracious tide. Grace and love, like mighty rivers, poured incessant from above; Heaven s peace and perfect justice kissed a guilty world in love. Let me, all Your love accepting, love You, ever all my days.
