4 Page 4 Educating Growing Serving The Kapelle and drama team of Saint Thomas will present Hal Hopson's Tenebrae on Good Friday, March 29, at 7:00 p.m. The Service of Tenebrae follows a tradition of the church dating back to the eighth century. From Latin, the word Tenebrae means "darkness" and commemorates the final hours of our Lord's life on earth, as he suffered death upon the cross. As the candles are extinguished, they symbolize the fading loyalty of the disciples and friends of Jesus. The gradual darkening of the church portrays the diminishing light of the word as Christ was departing from it. The congregation will join with the choir on many musical responses and readings. Plan now to attend this Service of Darkness which solemnly reflects our Lord's tremendous sacrifice for us. Time to go to KINDERGARTEN! You are invited to come to St. Thomas Lutheran s kindergarten class and check it out. We pride ourselves in small classes, a strong phonics based education (including spelling tests!), relationship training (proper social skills are important to us), and most of all, the love of God will be shared with your child. Other programs we offer are choir, computer class, Accelerated Reader, field trips, sign language instruction, art, interactive activities, full day and half day programs, basketball program, and more. Please come on Thursday, April 15 th between 1pm and 3pm to St. Thomas Lutheran School located at Kelly Road (southwest corner of Kelly and Stephens (9½ mile) in Eastpointe. Our school has grades Pre-school through 8 th grade with affordable tuition. If you can t make it on April 15 th please call the school and schedule a special tour just for you! Looking forward to seeing you. Blessings on your day, Mrs. Christine Pifer Kindergarten Teacher

(1 Corinthians 10:1-11) March 10 "God's Search and Rescue for the Lost" Lutheran Hour Speaker: Rev. Gregory Seltz If we care about finding lost things, especially precious things, God cares infinitely more. (Luke 15:1-3, 11-32) March 17 "Be Like Jesus" Lutheran Hour Speaker: Rev. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion. Mother Teresa A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life March 10 The simple biological truth of the matter is that the Cell Theory states that all cells arise from pre-existing cells. There is no blackout period between sperm and egg uniting, and then the emergence of life at some point distant. Gerard Nadal, Ph.D. A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life March 17 Unique and irreplaceable potential is crushed in Planned Parenthood abortion clinics about 1,000 times a day. My adopted son could have been one of them. But his birth mom turned the unplanned into a loving plan. And now, he s loved like crazy. It s hard to imagine that he might never have been because of the crime of being unplanned. Ryan Bomberger, Emmy Awardwinning creative director and co-founder of The Radiance Foundation A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life March 24 Except for the whole manger thing, Jesus birth was pretty much like any birth pain, cramping, pushing, bleeding, maybe with Joseph a little queasy. The miracle happened nine months before when the power of the Holy Spirit overshadowed a virgin and the holy Son of God was conceived in her womb. Rev. Dr. James I. Lamb, executive director of Lutherans For Life A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life March 31 Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection not in books alone, but in every leaf in the springtime.
