1 Weekly Prayer Guide April 21, 2019 The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer. F.B Meyer Easter: Thank God for the opportunity to celebrate the wonder of the resurrection yesterday and ask Him to give you the strength to live in the spirit of that event throughout this coming week. Tuesday World Renew - Nigeria: World Renew supports economic advancement in Nigeria by enhancing business and management skills. Some program participants have opened their own businesses and are doing well; some are struggling but trusting God for improvement. Please ask God to continue guiding the people of Nigeria and prospering them in their livelihoods. Wednesday Congregational Meeting: Ask God to lead the congregation as we discuss and vote on issues pertinent to the church s mission. Thursday Youth Group Fund Raiser: Pray for the youth group and their leaders as they host the lasagna dinner this evening. Camp Out: Please pray for the Cadets as they go on a camp out this weekend. Ask God to keep them safe and help them to increase in various skills. Pastors: Pray for Pastor Mark and for Christian pastors everywhere as they bring God s Word to their parishioners on GEMS: Thank God for the GEMS girls and their leaders and ask Him to bless our worship service today as we draw special attention to that program this morning. 4 Almond Valley Mailbox Messages April 21, 2019 ANNOUNCEMENTS Ripon Community National Day of Prayer Love One Another is the theme this year for the 14 th annual Ripon Community National Day of Prayer Service to be held on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. hosted by the First Christian Reformed Church, 305 Boesch Drive, Ripon. Community leaders from our police and fire departments and from the Modesto Pregnancy Center will be represented and will be followed by prayer led by our local pastors. The men s choral group, Voices for the King, will minister in music throughout the service. Childcare for infants and toddlers will be available and refreshments will be served following the service. Reserve this night to join together with fellow believers from our community to pray, to humbly confess, and to acknowledge God s dominion over the circumstances facing our city, state, and nation. 5 Today Happy Easter! When Jesus told his disciples to follow him, he wasn t only referring to morality, but he was commanding them to walk into death and resurrection. This morning Pastor Mark will be preaching from Matthew 28, The Resurrected Christ Goes Ahead of You, And You Will See Him. Today the cloth on the cross is white signifying the joyful celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! There are six additional s in the Easter season where we continue to celebrate Jesus resurrection. Come and join us tonight, here at Almond Valley, for a combined CRC Easter Evening worship with Immanuel CRC and First CRC. Pastor Mark will be preaching his message from Colossians 3:1-4, Raised for Righteousness. Glenn De Jong (organist) and the Voices for the King will be joining us. Please stay for a time of fellowship afterwards. Our Children in Worship program is for 3yrs old 2 nd grade children that meets downstairs in the youth ministry center during the morning worship service for age appropriate worship. Today s story is Jesus Appearance. Announcements IMPORTANT: Ladies, last week information on the "Unshower Shower" for Kristin Stoffels (marrying Anton Den Dulk) was in your mailboxes. Due to her living in Minnesota, we will not be having an actual bridal shower at church. Instead, we ask that you drop off your gifts, and Randy and Shauna will bring them to her in May. We are collecting recipe cards/gifts and are requesting that they be dropped off at the Women's Ministry table by May 5th if you would like to participate in showering the happy couple. Help us raise money for Hi-Camp and for the NorCal Fire Relief Summer Project. NorCal Fire Relief Informational Meetings, April 28th & May 12:15PM: This summer, the youth groups of Almond Valley CRC and Immanuel CRC are teaming up with their churches to bless the lives of families in Middletown, CA who lost their homes in the 2015 Valley Fire. If you or your children are interested in this opportunity and would like more information, you are invited to join us for one of our two informational meetings on April 28th and May 5th, whichever is more convenient for you.
