9 Today Film Club: The Plymouth Embroideries, hosted by Acting Senior Minister Paula Northwood, following Second Service, 12:30 p.m., Jackman Come view The Plymouth Embroideries: The Craft and Passion of the Needlers (29 min., ca. 2012). Viewers will learn about the ingenuity and determination that created the four well-known Plymouth embroideries. In the film, we will meet Pauline Baynes, the noted illustrator who designed the embroideries, and hear about the friendships and community that formed around these works of art. Following the film, there will be time for discussion. All are welcome! Sundays at 10 for Jan. 27 Like podcasts, yet these experiences are in real time and offer opportunities for give and take. We know these reflections help connect us as a community of faith, and we hope the time you take to write and share one or two meditations is a blessing of its own for you. Some years it is just a sorrowful song of humans great capacity to hurt each other, and other years it is just a story as dry as the well. When the story of Lent is dust or only pain I will look for a new source of inspiration and meaning in this time of reflection and prayer. Prayer Lord be with me and give me strength as I search to find new meaning in an old story. Amen.
