Registration is done at the Rectory. Instruction class is required of Parents & Godparents which will be on the Thursday two weeks before Baptism at 7pm. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: Confessions are held on Saturdays from 4:15pm to 4:45pm or at other reasonable times by making an appointment at the Rectory. SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Arrangements must be made at least 6 months prior to the wedding date. SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Contact the Rectory to make arrangements for the Sacrament of Anointing. Please contact the Pastoral Ministry Office to arrange home visitation and Communion. 3 This Sunday, we celebrate Father s Day. It is a day when we remember all of our Fathers, both living and deceased. On this day, I remember my dear Father John who died 13 years ago. He was a loving presence to me throughout my life, and I miss him every day. How important it is that we have good Fathers in our lives, that love and support us. I also think of the grandfathers, uncles, and godfathers who mirror the love of Christ to us. Jesus also had a loving father, Joseph. Joseph loved him, and taught Jesus how to be a good and upright man. Saint Joseph is the role model for all men who are Fathers. Joseph loved, provided, and cared for both Jesus and Mary. We hear very little about Joseph in scripture. However, tradition teaches us that he was a good, humble, and loving man. Our children need good, humble, and loving men. On this Father s Day, let us pray for all the men who have and continue to influence our lives, in them we experience the loving presence of God. The event will take place on Saturday evening, July 16th at 6:30pm at Saints Simon & Jude (Lower Church) located at 295 Avenue T (between Van Sicklen and Lake Street), Gravesend, Brooklyn and is accessible by F train line. Tickets are $25 per person and include a hot dinner buffet, hold and cold beverages, and dessert. Tickets will be on sale in the Church lobby after all weekend Masses. 4 - Classroom Training - QuickBooks and Excel classroom training is being held in many cities coast to coast. The classes run from 9:30am to 4:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch break. Every student is provided with a notebook computer for use during the class. Registration cost for any class is $259. We accept all major credit cards. This collection enables the Holy Father to respond with emergency financial assistance to requests to aid the neediest throughout the world - those who suffer as a result of war, oppression, and natural disasters. It also provides the faithful with a tangible opportunity to not only empower the weak, defenseless, and voiceless, but also to sustain those who suffer. F[ith Form[tion ATTENTION PUBLIC SCHOOL PARENTS The Faith Formation office is accepting registration for the new school year. Please consider re-registering before the end of Faith Formation classes. You may also mail in your registration forms. Classes are sequential; each class building upon the previous. Each year brings your child closer to learning more about our Catholic faith. All children currently enrolled in the program have received registration forms for your convenience. One registration form per child. 6 Parish Visit The Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn, will visit Our Lady of Grace Parish on Sunday, June 26th and will celebrate the 10:15 AM Mass. All are welcome to come and say hello to our Bishop. CALENDAR MEETING Our 2016/17 event-calendar meeting for group and society leaders will be held on Monday, June 27th at 7pm in the Father Murtagh Library. Catholic Pilgrimage Father Rafael Perez of Divine Mercy Parish in Brooklyn will be co-spiritual director of a Jubilee Year of Mercy Catholic Pilgrimage to Fatima, Lourdes, Nevers, and Paris from September 12th to the 22nd. There are only 8 spaces left! Two nights will be spent in Fatima, one night in Spain, two nights in Lourdes, one night in Nevers, and two nights in Paris, along with daily Mass. Daily breakfast and dinner will be served and the flight leaves from JFK airport. We want to remind all the children of our parish family that just because school will soon end for the summer it does not mean that your obligation to attend Sunday Mass ends as well. Parents, please continue bringing your children to Mass each Sunday throughout the summer months. Older children who are allowed to be on their own should also continue to attend Mass. Come celebrate the 10:15 am Family Mass with the Kingdom Builders charismatic music beginning June 12th. Please keep these catechists and the children of our parish community in your prayers. 80th Anniversary Celebration Join our parish family on Sunday, September 25th for our Grand 80th Anniversary Celebration. Tickets are $30 (children 12 and under $10). We need photos of any past Our Lady of Grace event. Please attach information to the photos and drop them at the Rectory. We are compiling a list of names of our parishioners who were here from the very beginning (the early 1930s), who remembers attending mass at the store-front church on Avenue X before the current church was built.
