We began our message by emphasizing the fact that worship is more than a one-hour Sunday morning exercise. Worship is a way of life! Everything that we do as Christians can be an act of worship. Purpose, intent, attitude and motivation have everything to do with worship. We are to worship in spirit and in truth. The Importance of Worship Worship is the number one commandment of God. Worship was the pattern of life in the Old Testament. Worship was and is the practice of the New Testament church. Worship is the individual Christian s primary responsibility. God is at home in the midst of the worship of His people. Worship is a pre-requisite for effective service. Worship is the cure for discouragement. SERVICE SCHEDULE SUNDAY MORNING 8:30 &10:30 A.M. II Chronicles 16:9, For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. Genesis 22 contains two first mentioned words: love and worship. Certainly this is no coincidence. One has everything to do with the other in our walk with God.

We are collecting school supplies: pens (blue, black, red), #2 pencils, crayons (box of 16 or 24 count), white glue, wide-ruled notebook paper, 2-pocket folders, 1-subject spiral notebooks, rulers, erasers, and pencil sharpeners. You may bring them to the North Welcome Center. TODAY IS THE LAST COLLECTION DATE. We will be hosting a fund-raising event in October, and will be arranging gift baskets. Items such as non-perishable foods, cosmetics, office supplies, small kitchen gadgets, etc. are needed. This is a great time to re-gift those items you have stashed away. Please place your items in the box marked NYFRF Gift Baskets, located at the North Welcome Center. CompassCare is training nurses in ultrasound to serve women at-risk for abortion on Tuesday, September 9, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. If you are interested in getting a FREE ultrasound to help with training, please call to reserve a spot.

It is an international organization for which our church has a chartered club, one of over 20,000 worldwide. A great children s ministry for children and adults alike, the main concern of Awana is emphasizing the importance of God s Word, the Bible, for sound living. Our purpose is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. We want our children to know, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ, and we accomplish this by making use of the Awana handbook, which is an age-appropriate discipleship manual that begins with children as young as 3 years old and uses achievement-oriented learning segments to emphasize the importance of God s word in their lives. As the children progress through their handbooks, working individually and together with parents and leaders, they grow spiritually. G&T Athletics We have tickets to the Rochester Rhinos game at Sahlen's Stadium for Saturday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m. They are $7 each while they last.
