Here s How You Can Join Cornerstone and/or Complete The Pre-Membership Class At the end of service a minister will invite you to accept Christ as your Savior as well as invite those desiring to become members to come to the altar and meet with one of our inquiry counselors. All you have to do is walk forward and you will begin the process to become a member and/or give your life to Christ. Our next class will take place July 22 at 10:30am. 4 July - A Month of Sunday Fundays! July 29 THROWBACK SUNDAY - Rep Your Decade Worship & Attire Sunday Throw Back Sunday - Wear attire from the decade of your choice as we worship through the years. July is our month of holy casual, relaxed, themed attire and fun opportunities for fellowship for the entire congregation. We will have a retro candy buffet following services with candies from the 20s to the 2000 s. Individuals will have ONE small bag to fill after Connect Group time and 2 nd service. You will need a coupon from your Connect Group teacher or the 2 nd service usher to access the candy buffet. See you in Connect Group class that Sunday!!!! ~ Wear attire that reps a decade of your choice or birth 50 s, 60 s, 70 s, 80 s 90 s etc. ~ To close out our month of Sunday Funday activities, next Sunday, as a part of our throwback Sunday attire we will have a retro candy buffet with candies from years gone by. In order to participate in the candy buffet you must bring a ticket from your Connect Group Class that day. Teachers or an assigned member will distribute the tickets in class that morning at 10:30AM. If you don't have a Connect Group, next Sunday is great time to visit one of the many classes available for your life situation, age, marital status, gender, or study style. See the list in the bulletin and visit a class next Sunday!!! 4 Marriage Ministry Date Night Friday, August 7pm Join the Cornerstone Ministry of Marriage for the next 'Date Night' Friday August 24th at 7PM in the MPR! 'Adding Spice to Your Marriage: A Night of Latin Flavor' is the theme. Join hosts Roberto & Mayra Cepeda and other couples for a fun night of Salsa lessons, a delicious Mexican dinner, and a great word on how marriage is a dance! The cost is only $10.00 per couple, sign up at the Connection. Childcare will be provided.

5 If you purchased tickets for the Dallas Wings Game today, you are welcome to join us following Connect Groups from 12:00-1:30PM for wings, pizza, and fellowship in the MPR. You will need to present your purchased game tickets to enter the lunch area. PLEASE TAKE NOTE We are participating in the ball exchange. We will meet at the stadium at 2:00pm so that we can meet our handler in our sections (sections 105 and 106 by 2:15pm.) We have an opportunity for 12 people from our group to participate in the ball exchange but you must be there by 2:15pm. We will pull names from those attending to represent Cornerstone on the court. THIS IS THE LAST WEEK TO GET YOUR TICKETS FOR THE TEA!!! You don t want to miss our guest speaker, Lady Terri Peaks of Good News International Christian Center of Arlington, TX. First Lady Terri Peaks is a woman who loves the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind and strength. She serves alongside her husband in a pastoral capacity, in administration and women s ministries at the church. Get your tickets for $15 today at the Connection or the church office. We are sponsoring a Cornerstone Author Signing Day Sunday, August 5 th. If you have written a book and would like to have your book featured that day, please contact Veronica Griffith at vgriffith@cbcarlington.org before July 30 th. Requirements: You must submit 2 books prior to July 30 th (one for Pastor to read and one for a staff member to read and approve). You will be notified if your book is approved. You will be assigned a table and will be able to enter the building at 8AM that Sunday to set up your table. The book signing will take place following the 9AM and 11:30AM services. We will supply one (1) skirted table and chair. We will not supply money for change nor will you be able to use the CBC credit card machines for book charges. 5

6 The topic for the August 3 rd session is Be The Dad Who Provides and Protects Men, join us for Iron Sharpens Iron. Our next session takes place Friday, August 3 rd from 6:30am to 7:45am in the MPR. We will continue the Be The Dad series, for fathers, grandfathers and father figures, learning how to Be The Dad Who Disciplines at the May 4 th Iron Sharpens Iron Gathering. 6

7 gods at War Male to Men Connect Group Male to Men Connect Group is starting a new series 10:30am called gods at War. Men please ask yourself this question: "Am I the man God would have me to be?" Maybe your issues are similar to what other men struggle with. The video driven series gods at War will help us learn how to overcome the god's of love, money, pleasure, power and ultimately self. We will learn to recognize misplaced worship in our lives and point the way to victory. Please join us in room 136 in Building B. for this series that will change your thinking and change your life! Daughters of Deborah Registration Is Open Registration is open for Daughters of Deborah! Girls who were in the program last year should verify that their information is up to date. New girls must complete a registration form. Girls in grades 4-12 are welcome to join. Pick up a brochure for more information. *If you attended the Retreat in February and didn t get your shirt at the End of Year Celebration you can pick it up at the registration table. Cornerstone Members: Mark your calendars! Our next PLACE Workshop is Saturday, August 4th. The PLACE Workshop will be from 8:00 am until 2:30 pm. The training is designed to help participants discover their unique God given traits and abilities while maximizing their personal effectiveness in both life and ministry. The PLACE Ministry process will help participants understand how God has prepared their place in ministry as they complete the steps below: P Personality Discovery L Learning Spiritual Gifts A Abilities Awareness C Connecting Passion with Ministry E Experiences of Life Registration Is Ongoing Member s Cost: $10.00 (includes materials, breakfast and lunch) Non Member s Cost: $15.00 Childcare is available when you sign up. Upon your registration and payment you will receive an with a link for you to complete the PLACE assessment prior to the workshop. This is vital to the effectiveness of the PLACE process during the workshop. 7

8 Attention Ladies WE HAVE A 3 RD AND FINAL BUS FOR THE ROAD TRIP!!! Due to such high demand and interest for the Ladies Branson Road Trip, we have ordered a 3rd and final bus for the trip. We have 32 seats available on the 3rd bus for the trip. If you re interested in joining us, please stop by the Connection and make your $50 deposit to secure a seat.
