We must reject the temptation to make gods of or to place our trust in material goods, power or control and rather to cling to our Lord who is our rock and refuge. 6 Spiritual Adoption Program ~MONTH TWO ~ March 9 & 10 Developing Baby Your baby is making progress developing all of his/her external features and internal organs. His/her brain is functioning at 40 days. His/her mother can hear his/her heartbeat now on an ultrasonic stethoscope. Milk-teeth buds are present at 6 ½ weeks. And it has been reported that a two-month old baby can suck his/her thumb. From this moment, your spiritually adopted baby grows and refines his/her body. But everything he/she needs to survive once he/she is born is already present by the end of the eighth week. PRAYER FOR THE UNBORNN FOR ENDING ABORTION My Lord, My God, Jesus Christ we adore you with all our heart. We beseech You, Lord, to save the life of the unborn babies in their mother s wombs. Save them from the atrocity of abortion. We pray for the expecting mothers: Give them Your light of love and Your heart of trust, so they will keep their baby until they are born. We pray for the fathers: Give them the fear of the Lord, so they will take the responsibility to take care of the mother and the child. Give them the courage to ight for the life of their baby. We pray for the doctors: Give them Your conscience, Lord, so they will see the unborn baby with the kindness of Your Most Sacred Heart, and to irmly reject and bravely protest against abortion. We offer to you the leaders of our country- all politicians, business owners, lawyers, judges, State Representatives, Governors, Senators and the President. Give them Your faith and con idence, so they will establish laws defending the life of the unborn. We offer you all religious teachers, deacons, priests and bishops. Give them the spirit of daily repentance, so they will lead a life of holiness. Give them the courage of Your Sacred Heart to teach, preach and give witness to You, Lord Jesus, and Your Gospel of life. Today, I offer my prayers for my Spiritually Adopted baby. Through the intercession of St. Gerard, the Patron Saint of the unborn children and expectant mothers, hear our prayers. Lord Jesus You were once an unborn child in Your Mother s womb. Now, years later, Maya emphasizes the importance of offering ongoing support to expectant mothers considering adoption. We have starting a fellowship group for mothers at St. Mary s Parish and we would love for you to join! If you are a mother or hope to be one someday you are welcome. We meet the irst Tuesday of the month April 2 from 6:30-8pm in the Parish Hall. We will be reading the book Who Does He Say You Are by Colleen Mitchell and discussing a few chapters of the book each month.
