8 FAMILY WORSHIP GUIDE At FPC, we believe that family worship is important. Recognizing the time challenges of a busy week with work and school, we want to make it as easy as possible for you. So we hope you find this Family Worship Guide helpful and use it in your homes this week. Each week addresses a question from the Westminster Shorter Catechism, with a daily scripture reference, key thought, and questions for family discussion. Or contact the church office at or receptionist@fpcjackson.org. THIS WEEK S FOCUS: Question 38: What benefits do believers receive from Christ at the resurrection? Answer: At the resurrection, believers, raised in glory, will be publicly recognized and declared not guilty on the day of judgment and will be made completely happy in the full enjoyment of God forever. MONDAY Scripture: Read John 5:21-29; 1 Corinthians 15:12-20; Acts 24:14-16 Key Thought: There will be a general resurrection. What is the resurrection? When will the resurrection be? Who will be raised? TUESDAY Scripture: Read 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 Key Thought: At the resurrection, believers will be raised up in glory. When believers are raised up, will their bodies look like they ve been in the grave? How does the planting of a seed teach us about the resurrection? According to verses 42-44, how will our resurrection bodies be better than our current bodies? How should this wonderful hope affect you today? (see v. 58) WEDNESDAY Scripture: Matthew 10:32-33; 25:31-46; Mark 8:38 Key Thought: At the resurrection, believers will be openly acknowledged. What does it mean to confess Jesus before men? How did the sheep respond? What do we learn from this response? What did Jesus say about those who are ashamed of Him before the world? THURSDAY Scripture: Read 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 8:33-39; 2 Timothy 4:1-8 Key Thought: At the resurrection, believers will be acquitted. What does the word acquitted mean? Who must appear before the judgment seat? Who will be judge? How can a guilty sinner be acquitted in a perfect court? Who will stand up to accuse the believer? FRIDAY Scripture: Read Revelation 5:1-14; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Key Thought: At the resurrection, believers will be made completely happy in the full enjoyment of God forever. What is man s chief end? What stands in the way of our fulfilling this end while we live? What will be the highest pleasure of the saints in eternity? How should we begin to prepare for that eternal blessing now?
