We welcome Faith into her new position serving God and leading our Youth Ministry. Please stop by and say Hi to Faith and her family this Sunday at the "Souper Bowl" or after our worship services. There will be a special time of recognition in the services for Faith and of course Janie Rose Alejandro who served as our Interim Director in the Fall of We are grateful to God for bringing Faith to us and our youth. 3 CALLING ALL SUPER HERO VBS WORKERS!!! VBS is fast approaching and we need to get command central up and running! For anyone that is even remotely interested in helping out in any way, there will be an informational meeting on Sunday morning, Feb. 17th, 10:30 a.m. during the Sunday School hour in the choir. Come and be a part of this life changing adventure. VBS will be June 10th-14th, 9:00 a.m. to noon. We will take some time to also discuss the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt. Pastor Doug Boldt will chair the meeting and lead us as we seek to serve and nurture the children who will be attending VBS and the Egg Hunt. June 10-14, a.m. 12 noon Saturday, April 13, 2019 Media Team Training NEW SEASON! NEW TEAM! Oxford will be hosting a Worship Media Team Training on Saturday, February 16 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary. At this training, we will cover ALL of the areas of Oxford s media needs from Livestream, to audio sound, to lighting, to Media-Shout. This will most likely be the first of a series of training sessions as we grow together, learn together, and move to the next level together!! 4 Thursday Night Basketball We now have Thursday night basketball in the Oxford gym. Join us at 7 p.m. Basketball is open to youth and adults. For more information contact Janie Rose Alejandro at jamjar724@gmail.com or call the church office at Valentine's Day Photo Booth Make plans to have your Valentine Selfie made with or for your sweetheart, friends, or family. The photo booth will be set up Sunday February 3 & 10. Participate in this fun event. We encourage you to "share" your photos on the church Facebook page. Share the Love! Youth Midwinter Retreat The Coastal Bend and El Valle Districts, are excited to present our Winter Retreat 2019, In and Through the Fire. Members of the Oxford Youth Group will be attending. It s going to be filled with fun, games, and intentional worship meant to bring our students from across the Conference closer to one another and to Christ. For more information youth@oxfordumc.org

She was born in Sutherland Springs, TX to Walter Guy and Mary Lavada Dawson on December 29, She graduated from Sutherland Springs High School in 1944 and moved to San Antonio shortly afterwards. She married Charles Dawson February 7, Joyce was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church for many years and she will be remembered by all who knew her as a generous spirit. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles and survived by her daughter Cindy Golly; granddaughter Kristi Woods and husband Chuck; grandson Jeff Golly; great grandchildren Garrett, Kendall, and twins Jules and Jenna, as well as many friends and others whose lives she touched.
