APRIL 11, 2017 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Easter is Here! Lent is nearing an end, and in just a few days Easter will be here. Wow, where has the time gone?

Each moment is a precious gift from God, and we need to make the most of them in terms of serving God with all that we have. Easter is here - so what does this Holy Day mean to you.

This is the Good News that we are called in the Great Commission to share. Let s make a commitment as individuals and as a community to share what we have found. That God so loved the world!

1 APRIL 11, 2017 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Easter is Here! Lent is nearing an end, and in just a few days Easter will be here. Wow, where has the time gone? The march of time is relentless and with that knowledge what does it call us to do. Never should we take time for granted for there is no guarantee of the next year, day, hour, or even second. Each moment is a precious gift from God, and we need to make the most of them in terms of serving God with all that we have. Easter is here - so what does this Holy Day mean to you. Do we immerse our self in the glorious Resurrection of our Lord and Savior? Does it fill us to such an extent that the truth of God s great love overflow into the world and lives around us? This is the Good News that we are called in the Great Commission to share. Let s make a commitment as individuals and as a community to share what we have found. That God so loved the world! Last year we had 190 in worship for Easter and we hope this year even more will be a part of this beautiful service. The cantata for Lent is being done on Easter and it will be a celebration in music for us all. What a great opportunity to invite someone to join us in worship. We will be flowering the Cross as well as sharing The Lord s Supper, rejoicing in Christ s victory over sin and death. Every soul longs to hear this. So, let s express our love for God and others by asking them to join us this Easter. Step out in faith, say a prayer and open your mouth. Help others find out the truth about God s love and find a life fulfilled beyond imagination. Jesus is counting on us. 1st Quarter Outreach Giving: Our World Outreach Department presented the following checks to our congregation on Sunday morning, April 9th. These checks were mailed out on Monday morning. We were also able to help out with rental assistance. The prayer room will be set up in the office with soft light, and reading material to enhance your prayer time.

Thanks to all who signed up to pray. We were not able to get all the time slots filled so we are asking that everyone pray from home for the last few hours of Saturday. Easter Sunday!

3 Maundy Thursday Service April 6:30 pm Come and share in an outdoor communion service (weather permitting) as we celebrate the Last Supper. We will sing, have a devotional, and share communion. The service will take place on the east side of the parking lot in front of the communion table. The service will be moved to the Gathering Area if the weather is rainy. Nursery will be available. 24 Hour Prayer Vigil Friday, April 14-8:00 pm thru Saturday, April 15-7:30 pm Our prayer vigil starts at 8:00 pm on Friday, April 14. If you have signed up to pray, please arrive on time and enter the doors by the church office. There will be security to help you get in and out of the building. The prayer room will be set up in the office with soft light, and reading material to enhance your prayer time. The list of volunteers will be in the office and we ask that when you arrive, you call the person on the list behind you so that they are reminded to come at their time. April 16-10:30 am Good Friday Service April 14-7:00 pm Please make plans to attend this somber service as we look at the events leading to Christ s crucifixion. This will be a reflective service and will have periods of darkness. Nursery will be available. FLOWERING OF THE CROSS REMINDER: Bring flowers this Sunday for the Flowering of the Cross. Join us for worship at 1 0 : 3 0 a m a s w e celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our sanctuary will be t r a n s f o r m e d f r o m darkness into beautiful light. The adult choir will sing a cantata. We will flower the cross, so remember to bring flowers for this special event. Don t forget to invite your friends and family to share in this wonderful day.

God knows that we cannot remember or keep his commands without being reminded of them frequently. This is one reason he told us to renew our minds in the Scriptures daily.

Memorizing Scripture renews our mind and transforms our life. Romans 12:2 Do you have to write everything down in order to not forget? He already wrote down what we need to know! According to Romans 12:2, keeping Scripture at the forefront of our minds will help us receive spiritual transformation from Almighty God. Pastor Paul is inviting the RHCC church family to memorize a verse of scripture each week. The weekly verse will be printed in the newsletter. Pastor Paul will lead the congregation in reciting the verse together in worship at the conclusion of the Children's Moment before the children return to the nursery and children's area.
