The Chapel will open at 7:30am with Exposition from 8:30 am to 10pm on weekdays and from 9am to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. Who by a star guided the wise men to the worship of your Son we pray you to lead to yourself the wise and great of every land that unto you every knee may bow, and every thought be brought into captivity. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen The Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of God and Savior of the world. The great feast of Epiphany celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (magi) from the East, together with his baptism in the Jordan and the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee. In the magi, representatives of the neighboring pagan religions, the Gospel sees the first-fruits of the nations, who welcome the good news of salvation through the Incarnation. The magi's coming to Jerusalem in order to pay homage to the king of the Jews shows that they seek in Israel, in the messianic light of the star of David, the one who will be king of the nations. Their coming means that pagans can discover Jesus and worship him as Son of God and Saviour of the world only by turning towards the Jews and receiving from them the messianic promise as contained in the Old Testament. The Epiphany shows that the full number of the nations now takes its place in the family of the patriarchs, and acquires Israelitica dignitas (is made worthy of the heritage of Israel ) [CCC 528]. ISAAC S Parish Coffee Please join us in the Parish Hall after the 10:30 am Sunday Mass for a coffee social hosted by the Legion of Mary and Respect Life Groups. Fulfilled - St. Isaac Jogues Adult Faith Formation - will offer a new Bible Study beginning on Tuesday, January 15 th. This seven part series explores the biblical roots of the Catholic Faith. Learn where the blueprint for the Catholic Faith was laid out in the Old Testament and how Jesus fulfilled it in the New Testament. The narrator of this study is Sonja Corbitt, a Catholic Scripture teacher with a story teller s gift. As usual, our program evenings will consist of 30 minute videos followed by group discussion and refreshments. We begin at 7 pm and end promptly at 8:30 on the Tuesdays from January 15 th through February 26 th. The study guide and the book to accompany this program can be purchased for $25. Presently our Ushers select individuals or families to participate. Everyone is invited to participate, and if you wish to present the gifts please make your presence known to our Ushers at least 10 minutes before Mass. If you have reserved a Sunday or a Holy Day Mass for a loved one or friend and would like to present the gifts at that Mass, please contact the Ushers 10 minutes before the Mass begins. The person who reserved the Mass would take precedence over others, but we ask that you give others an opportunity if you have reserved a number of Masses.
