During this time of preparation, you are encouraged to pray silently, asking the Holy Spirit to enable you to cling to and delight yourself in Christ. *CALL TO WORSHIP (PLEASE SILENCE ALL PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES.) *AFFIRMATION OF PRAISE (# 309) *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Rejoice, the Lord Is King The Gospel of Christ Unison: For the gospel has been given to us, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures for our justification. PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION SERMON Pastor John Bennett *COLLECTIVE CONFESSION Most holy and merciful Father, we acknowledge and confess before You our sinful nature prone to evil and slothful in good and all our shortcomings and offenses against You. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from Your ways, in wasting Your gifts, in forgetting Your love. O Lord, have mercy on us, who are ashamed and sorry for all wherein we have displeased You. Teach us to hate our errors, cleanse us from our secret faults, and forgive our sins for the sake of Your dear Son. And O most holy and loving Father, send Your purifying grace into our hearts, we beseech You, that we may henceforth live in Your light and walk in Your ways, according to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord. What benefit do you receive from the holy conception and birth of Christ? (They are also welcome in the sanctuary.) Please transport any nursery-going children immediately following the Doxology. *PLEASE TURN OFF watch alarms, cell phones, and pagers before the service. *PARENTS please help us limit the distractions during our worship service by making sure your children attend to restroom needs, etc. before the service. 5

You do not need to know how to read music or have any musical experience, just have a good ear for pitch and a heart to make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Rehearsals resume Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 6:15pm. We warm up in the choir room upstairs Sundays at 10:25am. Please come and be apart of the joy of music and fellowship as we sing unto the Lord together! January 26th Like last year, the rally falls on the same Saturday as our Francis Schaeffer Conference so we will follow the same schedule: Meet at 8:30 AM for breakfast and the first session of the conference. 11:30 AM leave the church for the rally 3:45 PM return to church for parent pick-up For more information, talk to Pastor John. 9
