Completing a form will help us keep accurate and up to date information concerning the children and how we can best serve them. 2 Victory Mission Meal It s a Spaghetti Feast on Sunday, April 10th for our family at Victory Lutheran. DCE Anna and her High School Volunteers will be serving the meal. Help in providing food items is needed and always appreciated. Please see the sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center in the narthex. Be a Victory Volunteer! It's a good thing! Please leave them by the pop machine in the gym. Women Crafting for a Purpose (WCP) Women Crafting for a Purpose shoe cutting party has been rescheduled for Monday, April 25. Participants are asked to bring a pair of blue jeans, scissors, and $5 to cover shipping, a shoemaker s wage and supplies for sewing and foot clinics in Uganda. The shoe pieces and money will be shipped to Uganda where local shoe makers will sew together the shoes using the parts that we cut out with soles made out of recycled bicycle tires. Daughters of the King Banquet Women s Ministry will host the Daughters of the King Banquet Monday, May 2, 2016, 6:00 p.m. All women and girls of Redeemer are invited young, old, and in between, single, married, and their friends for this fun evening of fellowship. Every female is a Daughter of the King! We ll enjoy good food, spiritual mentoring, and entertainment. We are happy to announce that Milo Birch will provide our entertainment for the night. Milo is 11 years old, plays the piano and keyboard and writes his own music. The sign-up sheets are posted on the Women s Ministry bulletin board. We are looking for women to bring a hot dish, salad, dessert or to help with set up, hosting, or beverages. 5 SPRING LWML RALLY Redeemer s Women s Ministry is hosting a gathering for women on April 9, 9 am to 3 pm. This gathering will bring women from the UP together with a focus on mission outreach. Our guest speaker will be Sue Pfeil, from Loretta, WI, telling us about her mission work in Kyrgyszstan. Allison Hein, from Calumet, MI, will lead us in Bible study, This is My Story, This is My Song. During the morning we will work on a project making hygiene packets for various agencies in the Marquette area. Participants are invited to bring a bar of soap, a toothbrush, and travel-sized toothpaste and shampoo. Using a washcloth and button that will be provided, we will make an envelope to hold these items. Some donations for refreshments will also be needed check the bulletin board for specifics and to sign up. 5

6 Community Baby Shower 19th ANNUAL MARQUETTE COUNTY COMMUNITY BABY SHOWER This year the Marquette County Community Baby Shower will take place on April 22 at the Negaunee Township Hall. The Community Baby Shower is sponsored by the Marquette County Health Department and helps families with much needed supplies for their new babies. Families can also learn about services that are available to assist them. April 1 through April 18 there will be a collection site in the narthex for the collection of baby supplies to be donated to the Community Baby Shower. Please donate new or handmade items (newborn through six months). Suggested items are: diapers, wipes, shampoo, lotion, socks, onesies, clothes, bottles and blankets. If you would like to make a donation of cash or a gift card, please leave it in the church office. These will be used to purchase large items like Pack N Play, cribs and high chairs. This is a wonderful way to help families in the area welcome their new babies. If you have any questions please contact Maryellen Arntsen at Silent Auction Mark your calendars and get ready to start bidding! Beginning April 2 Redeemer will be hosting a silent auction to help support the youth trip to the National Youth Gathering in July. The auction will run for four weekends in April and will close at the Spring Cookout on April 24. Items for auction will include baskets put together by the families of our youth gathering participants, with themes ranging from coffee lover s dream to a road trip s worth of entertainment. Prayer Chain Redeemer s Prayer Chain is looking for volunteers to become prayer partners. A prayer partner is notified of a prayer request by their choice of an or a phone call. You then pray using the prayer that you ve received. Jeannette Hauver is the Prayer Chain coordinator. She receives prayer requests from the blue Prayer Chain Request cards in the pews, by phone, by or in person. More information will be distributed at a gathering on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:30pm, honoring current Prayer Partners and those interested in becoming a Prayer Partner. 7 SCRIPTURE READINGS Acts 5: The apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon's Colonnade. 13 No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. 14 Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed. 17 Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. 18 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. 19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. 20 "Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life." Revelation 1: John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the 7 ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. 7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. 8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." 9 I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."

And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. John 20: On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." 24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." 26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

11 Camp Luther Every Kid to Camp Scholarship Camp Luther is our North Wisconsin District camp in Three Lakes, WI. Each summer hundreds of children preschoolers through high school youth attend one of the many adventure camps offered. A week of summer camp is a life-changing event that will make a difference in the life of a child and their family. Kids who attend a week of summer camp at Camp Luther will see life through a different set of eyes Jesus eyes. Kids will not only build relationships with new friends, but more importantly, with Jesus Christ. Imagine a day when all the children of the congregations in the North Wisconsin District have an opportunity to attend summer camp at Camp Luther at least once before graduating from high school. That is the vision of Every Kid to Camp. Every Kid to Camp is a program that sends kids to a week of summer camp at Camp Luther for FREE. Kids in grades 1-12 who would like to attend Camp Luther and haven t been to an overnight summer camp before are eligible. If this is you please complete the form at the bottom of this page to be eligible for the scholarship drawing. 12 Camp Luther Scholarship Opportunities WEBER CAMP LUTHER SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH The Pastor Weber Scholarship for High School Youth to attend Camp Luther was established in honor of Pastor Weber s 30 years of service to Redeemer congregation. This scholarship is designed for high school youth, grades 9-12, who want to attend Camp Luther in Three Lakes, WI. If you are a high school student and plan to attend Camp Luther this summer, please submit the form below to the church office by May 1, If multiple requests are received, a drawing will be made for the recipient of the $300 scholarship. (Please note: high school students are eligible to receive the regular Camp Luther Scholarship should they not be drawn for the Weber Scholarship.) All kids from the preschooler to the high school senior are eligible to request scholarship funds. If funds are available the scholarship fund awards up to 50% of the cost of camp per child.
