The Presbytery has witnessed the growth in the number of membership in our congregations. Souls that came to Christ during the year is one hundred and fifty six (156). 8.0 CHALLENGES Challenges The Presbytery has two Nendeni Areas and due to financial constrains, it is difficult to cater for their needs effectively. The prolonged drought in the region has adversely affected our churches financially and particularly in Magadi Nendeni Area and Oloodokilani mission Overcoming Strategy -Encourage members to initiate income generating programs. -Educate members on how to trade with Their cows in between the seasons to mitigate the effects of the drought. 632
13 Area where some of the members have migrated in search of pasture. Some have Lost their livestock to death. The high rate of illiteracy in Magadi Nendeni Area has continued to hinder evangelism in the Area. Church land disputes. Several of our churches have land under dispute from some marauding grabbers. There is a real threat to the marriage institution which is on the verge of callapse and increase in single parenthood Gender imbalance in church, whereby there are many women in church with very few men who are also idle. The business went down due to political climate -Introduce adult education together with the Ministry of Education. -Encourage churches to acquire title deeds and also develop their land to deter grabbbers -Have couples seminar to reduce the marriage gaps. -Encourage the P.C.M.F department to pull other men into the flock. -Pray that there is political good climate and dialogue. 9.0 FUTURE PLANS The Presbytery focuses on improving through Benchmarking, pastoral and evangelistic programmes. To ordain more elders and create more elder districts in order to cope with the increasing membership. The Presbytery to plan for income generating projects. Ensure spiritual and physical growth in all our Parishes through evangelism and discipleship To dedicate more churches within the Presbytery. Reaching the unreached in the Mission Areas. Completion of the current sanctuaries under construction where possible. Organise seminars to empower church leaders in order to raise their capacity to lead. To plant more churches especially in Magadi Nendeni Area and Oloodokilani Mission Area. 10.CONCLUSION We give thanks to God for the growth and achievements throughout the year. Indeed it was smooth due to His Grace. Also, the Presbytery greatly appreciates our Parishes, 633
14 Nendeni and mission Areas for their continued support and untiring effort within the year under review. Despite the challenges the Parishes tried their best in an endeavor to realize the goals and objectives of the Presbytery. It is our earnest prayer that we shall continue to offer our best for the well-being of the presbytery and the entire church. The Presbytery also wishes to thank the Head Office for the great support they have continued to give us.
