Some might focus on his role in history, saying, ʺYou are the founder of the Christian religion.ʺ Others might describe his work: ʺYou are a teacher, a healer, a spiritual guide.ʺ Perhaps there are some who would identify todayʹs reading, ʺYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.ʺ This is a profound statement of faith. To call Jesus ʺthe Christʺ is to profess awaited savior of Godʹs people. Help us to spend ourselves in his service and so earn the title of "Blessed" which Jesus applied to those who would believe in him without seeing him. Amen.
