ENCOUNTERING GOSPEL Luke 17:11-19 Page On the way to Jerusalem Jesus was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, 13 they called out, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us! 14 When he saw them, he said to them, Go and show yourselves to the priests. And as they went, they were made clean. 15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. 16 He prostrated himself at Jesus feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus asked, Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? 18 Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner? 19 Then he said to him, Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well. Mission Ministry is again collecting food to give to 30 some Manchester families for Christmas. The theme this year is BREAKFAST! In 2016, a survey showed that an average of 12% of households with children, in New Hampshire did not know where there next meal was coming from in at least one time in the previous 12 months. Please help our mission by bringing food items for our Christmas Breakfast Boxes such as pancake mix, syrup, coffee, tea, apple juice, peanut butter, boxed milk, oatmeal, and/or cereal. These items can be brought in to Brookside starting this Sunday, November 18 through Sunday, December 8. After worship on December 16th, the congregation will fill the individual boxes. Boxes will then be delivered to families through agencies in Manchester including New Horizons Food Pantry. You can sign up for specific items in Fellowship Hall and bring the food to church before December 16. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Diaper/Infant Supply Drive For November, Mission/Outreach Ministry will be sponsoring a Diaper/Infant Supplies Drive. Please bring to Brookside packages of any size diapers, baby wipes, or other supplies appropriate for infants and young toddlers. These materials will be distributed throughout community organization partners to families in need. Donations can be dropped off in a designated area in the Narthex or near the main office. Mission thanks you for your generosity. Book Study: Nov 26th - Exploring Freedom We all want joy, peace, and freedom. We are so busy following the paths the world promises will lead to these qualities, but many especially ethnic groups, immigrates and people of color end up empty and exhausted.
