2 Support Our Scouting Ministries On Tuesday nights, our halls and classrooms are filled with the joy of girls and boys plus their families and leaders. Shaun Axton, the outgoing cub master explains cub scouting as a family experience. If parents aren t participating, then they are missing out on a wonderful time with their children. In some cases, we have sisters involved in cub scouting because they want to be with their family. We wouldn t turn them away because scouting can strengthen the family. There are parts of scouts that remain the same through the years. The promise and the laws stay the same, but the badges have changed and are continually improving. STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) are components of the badges which enhance what they learn in school. Camping is still part of scouting, but so is world travel. The Pinewood Derby also continues and will be hosted at Moore 1st UMC. Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts all participate, as do adults. It s an exciting opportunity for both children and adults to grow, learn, serve and share. If you would like to learn more about the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, contact the church office on how to contact the leaders and be sure to check out their information tables on February 11 in the Welcome Center. News From Our United Methodist Women The United Methodist Women would like to remind everyone that March is the final month for the Central Jr. High Project. We will wrap up that collection at the General Meeting of March 7th. If you have not had an opportunity to contribute to this project, please bring Kleenexes, small bottles of hand sanitizer or wipes to the meeting. Hopefully the bad weather is over. If Moore Schools have cancelled school, the UMW meeting scheduled for that day has been cancelled. If you have any questions, you can call the church office or one of the officers of the UMW. Your safety is our priority. There will be craft meeting at 930am on March 15. We will plan to start working on several crafts. See you then. Looking into the future, mark your calendar for the first evening General Meeting of the year at 6:00 pm. Did you know there were Missionary Conferences of the UMC? Joyce Peters and Heather Kalkbrenner will share the information that they gained at Mission u last summer. March 7th at 11:30 a.m. is the next General Meeting. The program will be given by Rev. Debbie Ingraham the director of Skyline Ministries. Hope to see you there. Church Camp Is Coming!
