2 Seeing God in the City... A beautiful mess. It's incredible what God can do when a group of teenagers commit to loving, serving and growing together in the name of Jesus. They took new risks, some going on the subway for the first time, and for many being exposed to the needs vulnerable communities like refugees and street-involved populations in Toronto. You don't need to travel overseas to see the brokenness of our world, which is what many students realized over the course of the week. As we interacted with community members at Oasis Dufferin Community Centre, serving and preparing a community meal, painted relief rooms for newcomers at Christie Refugee Welcome Centre, and heard the harsh realities of living on the streets at Sanctuary Toronto - students were challenged to face the brokenness in their own lives and invite the hope of Jesus to bring healing and transformation.
3 Continue to pray as students return to their high schools & neighbourhoods. Carrying On The Mission... The 42-week mission. The real challenge for students is carrying on the mission once the comforts of returning home start to settle in. As they return to their schools and neighbourhoods, pray
4 that the transformation would continue. Students spend 42 weeks out of the year in school, where the hope of Jesus is needed in the hallways as they are in the alleyways of downtown Toronto. May these students commit to the beautiful, messy mission of loving people and loving God. Share Tweet Forward Visit InterVarsity Contact Information
