2 Who am I? Where did I come from? What s my purpose here on earth? Where am I going? Evolutionists cannot answer these questions, but God s Word answers them ALL! As one of the few Black Biblical Archaeologists in the country, Dr. Willie E. Dye is a much sought-after lecturer and teacher who delves into the origins of life issues. Through his travels to more than 28 countries doing field study, Dr. Dye examines evidence that proves design requires a designer. 3 BIOGRAPHY Born in Terell, Texas, December 3, 1948, Willie E. Dye is the eldest of seven children, whose living Christian parents gave them a great, rich inheritance--values and a belief system beyond what money could buy. Uppermost was the value of living a godly, moral life, and the importance of a good education. Even though his parents had a limited education, they were adamant that Willie and his siblings would get a good education. Among the many treasured things my parents instilled in me was that an education is a conquest, not a bequest. It can t be given. It must be achieved. They also taught us that the value of education lies not in its possession, but the struggle to secure it. In addition, my parents used to say, If you want others to think well of you, then set them an example by thinking well of yourself. With those ideals in place, Willie and his siblings could succeed. Willie received a real education during the desegregation era of the mid-sixties, when he was one of the first Black students to attend the once White-only school on the north side of his town. According to him, It was an eye-opening experience! See, all of us are the sum total of all the experiences we have had in life, and a composite of all the people we have met over the years, and I ve met the good, the bad, and the ugly. I adhere to the philosophy that every day is a classroom, every experience is a lesson, and everyone I meet is my teacher. Countless individuals who have crossed my path have left a permanent deposit, affecting my life for the better. After graduating from Burnett High School in 1968, Willie served two years in the United States Marines, completing a short tour in Vietnam. Upon returning to the States, Willie attended Grambling State University for a semester before taking off again to serve his country for an additional three years; this time as part of the Army, where his tour of duty included Germany, Korea, and, once again, Vietnam. The path to Willie Dye s success and current position in life began with a love for history and geography when he was in elementary school. Combine that with curiosity, a quest for true knowledge, plus the determination to dig it up at all costs, and a love for people, it is not by chance that he landed in the field of biblical archaeology. From his youth, he was fascinated by people, their different cultures, their habits, and their struggles. His field of study has allowed him ample opportunity to delve deeply into those areas of fascination and satisfy his curiosity. After leaving the armed forces he moved to California in Dye began studying cinematography at Los Angeles City College in 1984, while simultaneously playing an active role in the helps ministry as an usher and Sunday School teacher at his church, Crenshaw Christian Center. It was during this time that Willie Dye was attending special seminars around the Southland and at one of those seminars where he met Dr. Richard Fales, a renowned biblical archaeologist from Northridge, California. This meeting with Dr. Fales changed the course of Willie Dye s life and placed him on the path of study that he is on today. Dr. Fales encouraged him to go to school and study archaeology. He told me there was such a need for this topic to be taught in our churches and that he had never met a Black archaeologist in all his years of studying in the field.
4 Dr. Dye enrolled at California Graduate School of Theology in 1985, and Dr. Fales was one of his professors. Simultaneously, Dye enrolled in the School of Ministry at Crenshaw Christian Center earning a diploma in ministry in In 1992 he earned his Th.D. in Biblical Counseling from California Graduate School of Theology. He went on to earn four other doctorates: one in Bible Archaeology, Theology, Ministry, and Religious Studies. Over the last eight years, Dr. Dye has studied Biblical Archaeology at the University of Judaism. In addition, for the past three years, he has studied archaeology at UCLA, concentrating on Mayan Text, Mayan Sacred Text, the World of Rock Art, and Egypt After the Pyramids. His busy schedule is proof of his desire to obey the scripture, which reads: Study to show thyself approved. The more you study, the more Word you get on the inside of you and the more you are able to overcome any obstacle that is put before you. Preparation is the key. You must prepare yourself to be a channel through which God can help others come to a knowledge of the truth. He has taught archaeology for more than 25 years and has traveled to more than 22 countries around the world doing field work. He conducts travel study tours, works in the prisons and in juvenile camps. He currently has archaeology projects in Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and is also working on vertebrae paleontology as well as ichnology in Glenrose, Texas at the Paluxy River Bed. He is a Professor and You must prepare yourself to be a channel through which God can help others come to a knowledge of the truth. Director of the Department of Archaeology at Pacific National University where he also holds the position as President. A qualified lecturer at private and public educational institutions, churches, clubs and various organizations, Dr. Dye delves into the origins of life issues and records the fossils. He examines evidence that proves design requires a designer. As one of the few African-American Biblical Archaeologists in the country, Dr. Dye s goals line up with God s goals. He states, I ask four questions: Who am I? Where did I come from? What s my purpose here on earth? Where am I going? Evolutionists cannot answer these questions, but God s Word answers them all. Dr. Dye further states: My thought is this: The search for knowledge and understanding of the physical universe and living things that inhabit it should be conducted under conditions of intellectual freedom without religious, political, or ideological restrictions, that freedom of inquiry and dissemination of ideas require that those so engaged be free to search where their inquiry leads without political censorship and fear of retributions or consequence, whether it is unpopular or not, so those who challenge existing theories must be protected from retaliatory reactions.
