3 CBCS Page 3 COMPARE TRADITIONAL COLLEGES Full-time students earn 30 credit hours per year Students are required to take courses they will never use in Ministry or in their life Students take 5 courses simultaneously each semester with 2 semesters each year COVENANT BIBLE COLLEGE & SEMINARY Full-time CBCS students earn 30 credit hours per year Students learn vital truths in every class that they can use for the rest of their life Students concentrate on one 3-credit hour courses each month for 9 months 5 final exams and/or term papers are all due during finals week Students take 1 final exam and submit 1 term paper each month Your years of ministry experience are worthless here Students can receive 30 credits for qualifying previous ministry experience Your current, faithful service to your local church or ministry are also worthless here Students will pay tuitions ranging from $255 $600 for a 3-credit hour course plus books, lab fee, parking permits, etc Students graduate with thousand of dollars in college debt Students receive 3 credithours every year for service to their local church Students pay only $150 for undergraduate courses, $185 for Master s and Doctoral courses (3 credit hours), plus books. No lab or parking fees With no college debt, students are free to pursue their ministry immediately

6 Page 6 CBCS STATEMENT OF FAITH Covenant Bible College & Seminary considers the following truths to be fundamental to an understanding of our relationship to God. GOD The One True God is the eternally self-existent I AM, the Creator of the universe. He has further revealed Himself as a triune Being, manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6: 4; Isa. 43: 10, 11; Isa. 48: 16; Matt. 28: 19; Lu. 3: 22) SCRIPTURES INSPIRED All Scripture is verbally inspired by God as written in the original languages and is inerrant revelation of God to man. The Bible is the infallible authority for faith and conduct. (II Tim. 3:15-57; I Thess. 6:53; I Pet. 5: 65) ORIGINAL SIN & FALL OF MAN Man was created good and upright in the image and likeness of God. The first man, Adam, through disobedience, fell from the grace of God and, thus, sin and death entered into the world. Adam s transgression incurred not only physical death for man, but also spiritual death which is eternal separation from God. Man s propensity to sin because of his sinful nature necessitates salvation from the power of sin and a Savior to provide that salvation. (Gen. 1: 26, 23; Gen. 2:1-57, 3:8-6; Rom. 7: 53-69) SALVATION OF MAN Man s only hope of redemption and salvation from sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. His blood is completely sufficient to deliver every person from the power and penalty of sin. (Acts 4: 12; Rom. 5: 8-53, 54: 9; Ja. 5: 65; Eph. 6: 8) BAPTISM IN WATER Baptism by immersion in water is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent of their sins and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. (Matt. 28: 19; Mark 16: 16; Acts 10: 43, 48; Rom. 6: 4; Col. 2: 11, 12) THE CHURCH & ITS MISSION The church is the Body of Christ and is comprised of all believers. God inhabits the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit both individually and corporately. Since God s purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost, to be worshipped by man, and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, the Church s responsibility is: 1. To evangelize the world, and 2. To be a corporate body in which man may worship and glorify God. (Acts 1: 8; Matt. 28: 19, 20; Mark 56: 59, 56) HOLY COMMUNION The Lord s Supper, consisting of bread and a cup of the fruit of the vine, is a memorial of Jesus suffering and death and a celebration of His resurrection to be enjoyed by all believers until He returns. (II Pet. 1: 4; I Cor. 11: 26) BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT The Baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. With the baptism of the Holy Spirit comes the enduing of power for life and service and the bestowing of spiritual gifts. (Acts 2: 4; Lu. 24: 49; Acts 1: 4, 8; I Cor. 56: 5-35; Acts 8: 56-57, 54: 88-86, 59: 7-9, 59: 5-7) FAITH Faith of heart is based on the hearing (spiritual understanding) of God s Word. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Christians are saved through faith, justified by faith, shall live by faith, and overcome the world by faith. (Rom. 10: 9, 10, 57; Heb. 55: 6; Eph. 6: 8; Rom. 3: 68, 9: 5) DIVINE HEALING Divine healing is provided for in both the Old and New Testaments and is integral to the Gospel. (Ex. 15: 23-66; Ps. 543: 5-3; Isa. 93: 8, 9; Matt. 8: 56, 57; Acts 9: 56; Ja. 9: 58-56) THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST & THE FINAL JUDGMENT As the climax to God s dealing with man, Jesus is coming again. At that time, there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the wicked. The wicked will be judged and the righteous will be ushered into the everlasting kingdom of God. (I Thess. 4: 16, 13; Zech. 14: 5; Matt. 68: 67-34; Rev. 5: 7, 59: 55-58, 64: 5-6)
