2 St Helena s Church Kirmington 100 Club members should have renewed their subscriptions but it is never too late to join! It is per year. Your subscription can be left at 34 or 15 East End. Remembrance Day A service will be held on Saturday Nov.10 th at The War Memorial in St Helena s churchyard. Please attend by 10.45am. All welcome. Kirmington and Croxton Pensioners Christmas Lunch This year the Christmas lunch will be held in Kirmington Bowls Club on Saturday December 2 nd from midday. If you have recently moved to the village or recently become a pensioner and would like an invitation please let us know. Volunteers are needed to assist on the day. Please contact Grace Czartowski Christmas The BIG switch on of Christmas lights will be at 6.30pm on December 3 rd, followed by refreshments in the church. The Carol service will be December 24 th 4.00pm. Followed by drawing of the Christmas raffle. Donations of raffle prizes gratefully received.. Meeting MONDAY NOVEMBER 26 th 7PM in the church for anyone willing to help decorate the church for Christmas. As you may have noticed work has started on the installation of a toilet and serving area. Hopefully this will be finished for Christmas events to take place. Watch the notice boards for any alterations, cancellations. Coffee Break Praise will be November 27 th at 10.30am. The Bishop of Grimsby is coming to speak so please do come to show your support for our church.

4 Croxton St John the Evangelist On Sunday 11 th November there will be a service of REMEMBRANCE. AT 9.30AM All welcome. WILLIAM CLOWES BESWICK 1138 WILL BE ONE OF THOSE REMEMBERED IN THIS SERVICE. HE WAS IN THE 10 TH Battalion. The Chums. He was killed in the battle of the Somme on July 1 st 1916 aged 25 yrs. The Beswicks lived in Croxton in the 19 th and 20 th Centuries. In 1922 George Beswick was sub-postmaster at Croxton. The East window above the alter was placed in memory of Sergeant Navigator Timothy I Anson Dee R.A.F.V.R. aged twenty years who was killed on 16 th December His father was Earnest Dee who was a farmer at Croxton Grange. Reconciliation When you are standing at your hero s grave, Or near some homeless village where he died, Remember, though your heart s rekindling pride, The German soldiers who were loyal and brave. Men fought like brutes; and hideous things were done; And you have nourished hatred, harsh and blind. But in that Golgotha perhaps you ll find The mothers of the men who killed your son. This is a poem written by Siegfried Sassoon in November St Peter's Church, Great Limber Funerals: 4 th October, Roland Lawe aged 88 years. Service at All Saint s Church Brocklesby followed by internment in the churchyard. Eternal rest grant unto him O lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him and bring comfort to them that mourn. If you like what you taste you will have the opportunity to purchase and 10% of any sales will go to St Helena s Church There will be a raffle which will be drawn at the end of the evening. You don t need to be a wine expert, just come along and enjoy the evening and maybe learn a bit more about wine as the evening progresses. 8 Kirmington & Croxton Neighbourhood Watch This month we had the Healthy Chat at the Bowling Club organised by Richard Hannigan in conjunction with North Lincolnshire Council. Those who attended found it very interesting and each attendee achieved a certificate for Level 1 Public Health/Lifestyle Competency. Thank you to Richard Hannigan for his organisational skills and to everyone who kindly came along. The North Lincolnshire Council are running a Healthy Lifestyle Service, a programme of six to 12 sessions is on offer, at local convenient venues, and follow-up support will be available once the programme has been completed. Everyone who is seen by the service will have a one-to-one assessment with one of their Healthy Lifestyle Facilitators who will then identify the best way to offer support. The service will accept self-referrals as well as referrals from wider agencies such as GPs, nurses and social care. nlc.healthylifestyles@nhs.net Kirmington Park Run: Xander Welman is proposing to set up an informal Park Run on Sunday mornings at 10am.
