The devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all stations are complete. The Stations of the Cross are located along the interior walls of the Cathedral on either side of the church. The stations are most commonly prayed during Lent on Wednesdays and Fridays, and especially on Good Friday, the day of the year upon which the events actually occurred. However, during the Jubilee Year of Mercy we invite each of you to embark on your own self guided mini-pilgrimage and enter into a gifted faith experience, allowing Jesus to touch your heart deeply. Please feel free to take a Station of the Cross Prayer Guide which can be found at the entrance to the Cathedral. Copies are located at the VIS Desk or in the literature stands. Copies can also be obtained by visiting the Parish office. This helpful resource will assist you in self-guided prayer.
