2 Welcome to Historic Kawaiaha o Church To those joining us for the first time, we say E Welina Mai (Welcome) and Mahalo (Thank you) for worshiping with us this morning. We pray that you will feel a deep sense of aloha and warmth from our Ohana (Family) of God s people. Out of respect for all worshipers, please Kōkua (Assist) by kindly turning off cellular phones and pagers as you enter the sanctuary. Photography and videography are discouraged but are welcome prior to and after the service. Serving you this morning are Doorkeepers and Greeters stationed at the front entrances of the church. They will gladly assist you with any concerns or questions you may have. The Deacons, who assist the Kahu (Pastor), are available to pray with you immediately following the service. Meet them at the front pews. If you would like to find out more about the history of Kawaiaha o Church and its grounds, we invite you to join our Doorkeepers and Greeters for a brochure following the service. A.D.A. 3 United Church of Christ Statement of Faith We believe in God, the Eternal Spirit, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father, and to His deeds we testify: He calls the worlds into being, creates man in His own image and sets before Him the ways of life and death. He seeks in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin. He judges men and nations by His righteous will declared through prophets and apostles. In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Lord, He has come to us and shared our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to Himself. He bestows upon us his Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the church of Jesus Christ, binding in covenant faithful people of all ages, tongues, and races. He calls us into His church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be His servants in the service of men, to proclaim the gospel to all the world and resist the powers of evil, to share in Christ's baptism and eat at His table, to join Him in his passion and victory. He promises to all who trust Him forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, His presence in trial and rejoicing, and eternal life in His kingdom Approved by the 2nd General Synod of the United Church of Christ,

Mark 16:1-8 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb? 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. 6 Don t be alarmed, he said. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told 6 you.
7 8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. Reader: May God add His blessings to the reading of His word. People: Thanks be to God.
