Stewardship Lenten Prayer God of mercy, You have given us this special time to reflect on our lives, believe in the Good News and draw closer to You. May this season of Lent help us use this time to fast and pray, be more generous and show others how to live in Christ. Let us see each day of this season as a new opportunity to renew our lives and gain a deeper appreciation of Your active presence in us and our community of faith. Give us the grace to see Your face in others, especially the poor and those who suffer. And through your Spirit, rekindle in us the fire of Your love so that we may be better stewards of Your redeeming work throughout the world. We ask this through Jesus, Your Son. 4 St. Thomas More March 11, 2018 PAGE 4 Lenten Rules For Fast and Abstinence Abstinence from meat is required for everyone 14 and older on Good Friday and all the Fridays in Lent. Stations of the Cross The stations of the cross will be held on Fridays in Lent at 7:00 PM in the Adoration Chapel. Walk the path with our Lord through his Passion and Death and come once again to know of his love for you. March 20, 9:00 AM (School) March 21, 7:00 PM Special Program for Faith Enrichment: This Lenten Season we will again be gathering on Thursday evenings for 6:00 PM Soup and video presentation followed by a brief discussion. Taize Prayer will follow at 7:00 PM in the chapel. This year, we will be doing A Lent to Remember: Forgiven. Our last class will be March 15. Looking for ways to reflect during Lent? Federal guidelines known as HIPAA prohibit access...so the only way we know that you are hospitalized is if you let us know. Please let the Parish Office know if you or a loved one would like Anointing of the Sick before surgery, etc. Catholic Charities Volunteer Opportunity There is a need for volunteers to drive elderly and disabled clients in our area to Dr. appointments. If you would be willing to drive even just once or twice a month to help a senior or disabled person get to a doctor appointment, please contact Cyndie at Catholic Charities or clapke@ccspokane.org Shawl Ministry We will meet on Monday, March 12, at 1:00 PM in Conference Room 1. We searched diligently for a replacement youth group coordinator, but were unsuccessful. Therefore, February 11 was the last Jr. high youth group meeting for the school year. Amy would like to thank all the teens and parents who made this year s youth group so memorable. Religious Education Religious Education Classes will continue to meet every Sunday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM until, and including May 8, with the exception of April 1 & 8. May 6 will be a special May Crowning Mass at the 9:00 AM Mass. All children are welcome to participate. First Eucharist is Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 AM
