2 ST. EULALIA PARISH THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 23, 2016 PARISH MINISTRIES AND ACTIVITIES Make A joyful Noise Unto God God was glorified in a splendid way when the parish of St. Eulalia came together this past Sunday to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its founding. The Eucharistic celebration was uplifting, reverential, moving and a truly holy moment. We should be grateful to the members of the parish who gathered together as church and in holy fellowship, for the participation of the clergy (Cardinal O Malley, Bishop Uglietto, and priests who have served in the past and in the present at St. Eulalia Parish), for those who served as liturgical ministers the lectors, the altar servers, the choir members (adult parish choir, the children s choir and the contemporary music choir), the greeters, the floral decorators, the reception committee, those who cleaned in preparation and those who cleaned up afterwards. All who participated were energized! Fr. Jim Page 2

5 ST. EULALIA PARISH THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 23, 2016 PARISH MINISTRIES AND ACTIVITIES CALL FOR PHOTOS... COME AND ENJOY 50 YEARS OF FASHION!!! To augment our Youth Ministry sponsored 50th Anniversary Fashion Show (on Friday evening, Nov 4th at 7pm), we're collecting your favorite fun fashionable photos from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and into the new millennium. We are preparing a slide show to include a mix of your fun photos along with iconic fashion images through the decades. We'll accept scanned images via . If we do the scanning, please be sure to label your photos with your name, address, phone number. We'll have them available for you to pick up at the '50 Years of Fashion' event on Friday evening, Nov 4th at 7pm or some other time in the Parish Office. Photo sharing options: them to photos@sainteulalia.org Send them in the mail to Saint Eulalia Parish, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester, MA (in an envelope marked Attention: YM-photos) Drop them off at the Parish Office (in an envelope marked Attention: YM-photos) THE UNBROKEN WORD Sometimes, at the start of a new day, we have the opportunity to see the sun rise and all the changes as new light has its effect on the scene around us. Those who are traveling during this time, to or from work, or just lucky enough to be outside, find themselves inadvertently part of this great cycle. It s a rather wonderful thing, although we don t always have the time to stop and admire the sunrise for what it really is. A new beginning. Watching this transition can be a prayer-like experience; seeing God s creation moving from a divine darkness to a holy light. These are moments worth holding close to my heart. Perhaps you will experience such a dawn sometime soon. It is worthy of notice; particularly in these lovely New England fall days. Removing the Mystery Whichever way you choose to share your fun-fashion photo memories, please get them to us by Thursday, October 27th. Note: By releasing the photos to us, you're agreeing to allow us to display the images during the '50 Years of Fashion' public performance (where there may be people taking photos and video throughout the fun-filled-evening). Even if you can't find any fashion photos to share, please plan to come and watch our young parishioners share '50 Years of Fashion' with you! This will be a free frolicking family-friendly fiesta (with finger-food refreshments)! Delicate ripples salute the slight wind, As the gentle sweep of the cleaner, Dusts off the beginning of the day, Forcing mist to disappear somewhat sadly, Taking the mystery out of my new dawn again. And turning the lights on bright for another day. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT 7:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m. Times of quiet are balanced with times of contemplative music to enable private reflection. 7:30 p.m. In honor of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, come and pray along with a peaceful recorded version of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Open House Concept: come for as long or as short a time as you wish. Our church doors will be open for you. Michael J. Cunningham Director of Faith Formation, St. Eulalia Parish Photograph and Poem 2016 Michael J.
