2 Nativity of Our Lady 2018 Lenten Mission: Our Lenten Mission this year will be a little bit different than previous years. Mrs. Adele Guillot (who has a Master s Degree in Theology) will conduct a series of classes on St. Pope John Paul II s Theology of the Body. This mission is for those 18 years and older. The classes will be held at our parish hall on February 22 nd, March 1 st, March 8 th and March 15 th from 6-8pm. Please reserve this time on your calendars as we come to a better appreciation of these important teachings. God Bless, 1 lb. With the increasing cost of construction, prices have gone up on the new mausoleum crypts. Nativity of Our Lady has for sale some crypts in our previously-constructed mausoleums. I wanted to give parishioners an opportunity to buy crypts in our older mausoleum at reduced prices. Nativity of Our Lady currently has 6 double crypts on the top row for $8,190 each. The price for a double crypt on the top row in the new mausoleum is $9,850 each. If anyone is interested in considering the purchase of these Nativity-owned crypts at the cheaper prices, please call our church office and we can show you where they are located. God Bless, ANNULMENT PROCESS WORKSHOP On April 17, 2018, the Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Lafayette, Msgr. Robie Robichaux, will be presenting workshops on Annulments and what is needed to begin the process. Additionally, the Office of Marriage and Family Life will provide information and resources available to individuals dealing with divorce and grief recovery. The two hour workshop will be held at 10:00 am or 6:00 pm at the Diocesan offices, 1408 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, LA. Prior to attending one of the sessions, please register by calling , or via to catrahan@diolaf.org. There is no charge for this workshop. Every now and then, we notice that people are parking in front of the main entrance doors to church underneath the covering. Please, lets always leave this area open in case there is an emergency, and emergency personnel need easy access to our church. Also, please don t park in the aisle ways of our parking lot because this makes it harder for people to navigate in and out of our parking lot. Thanks, REFLECTIONS Third Sunday of Lent - We all know the Ten Commandments. It seems simple enough to follow these rules, but do we really think about what they mean? Reflect on each one and consider what it means in your life. We proclaim one God, but do we create little gods - money, approval, status? Does keeping the Sabbath holy mean attending Mass or is there more to it? Are there ways we might kill people without inflicting mortal, physical wounds? Jesus summed up the Commandments: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. How well are you keeping the Commandments? Barras The Feastday of St. Katharine Drexel is Saturday, March 3, St. Katharine Drexel was born in 1858 and died on March 3, She was an heiress who devoted her life and fortune to serving the Eucharistic Christ through the Black and Native American people. She founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament who served throughout the country, but especially in Acadiana. At the time of her death, her Sisters were serving in 48 elementary schools (including St. Edward in New Iberia), 12 high schools and one college - Xavier University in New Orleans. She taught us how to live united in the Eucharistic Christ. The Associates of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament will host a Holy Hour on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00pm at St. Edward Church, 175 Ambassador LeMelle St., New Iberia. Before the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, a relic of St. Katharine will be venerated. All are invited.
