To make sure you get what you want, please place your order as soon as possible. We were very sorry there were a few disappointed people last year as we ran out. We don t want that to happen this year. We will be at the church on Sundays after the church services or you can phone Gloria Ferguson at or Jean Mott at Thank you so much, Jean & Gloria Easter Newsletter Please pick up the Easter newsletter from the lobby this morning. If there isn t a copy with your name on it, it may have been sent electronically or you are not on our mailing list. If you would like to be on the list, please fill out a pew card with your information and leave it on the collection plate or give to one of the ushers or clergy. Thanks to Melanie Foord and Janet Herrera for their hard work in putting it together. Backpacks for the Homeless Do you have a longing in your heart to do SOMETHING for the Lord and don t know what that something is? We have a suggestion there has been a call for providing backpacks for those living on the streets. Jesus said Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me Mathew 25:40. This can be the ministry that you have been waiting for. The backpacks will be collected and blessed on Palm Sunday, April14th. Should you be interested in providing a backpack for this cause, the sign-up sheet in the Narthex is waiting just for you! We would suggest shopping now for any winter clothing before they are removed from the shelves to make room for spring and summer merchandise! Essential items suggested would be: Backpack, warm socks, winter hat, scarf, gloves, T-shirt, razor, rain poncho, tooth paste, tooth brush, brush or comb, bar of soap and zip lock bag, anti-perspirant, chap stick, multipurpose wipes, facial wipes, moisturizer/vaseline. Extra items could include: Band aids, shampoo, pen and note pad, underwear, cough candies, nail clippers, rainproof cover to protect individual and belongings, face cloth and hand towel, leg warmers, scissors, baseball cap, can opener, first aid kit and bible tract. If you have any questions please contact Eva-Maria Boessler at evamaria1109@yahoo.ca or or Lorna Smith at lsmith1@bell.net or Please note changes for donations to the following programs when submitting cheques or cash.the Backpacks for School Children has been changed to Kids Outreach so as not to be confused with backpacks for homeless. Please insert cash or cheque in envelope clearly marked either Kids Outreach or Backpacks for the Homeless. If you have and questions, please contact Lorna Smith.

2 Trent Durham Rural Ministry Forum 2019 In early June of 2018, members of some of our rural parish congregations in Trent Durham gathered with their clergy and Bishop Riscylla to celebrate our common ministry. We hoped the time together might be the first of a series of rural/small town Ministry Forums that would help us to share resources and implement strategies to meet the spiritual needs of our small communities. Bishop Riscylla invites members of rural, multi-point and small town parishes in Trent Durham to meet with her in On Saturday April 6th at St. John's, Ida from 1:30 until 3:30 to continue the conversation and to provide an opportunity for rural parishes in a variety of settings to speak about their needs and hopes. It is also a valuable time spent learning from each other. David Krause and Elizabeth McCaffrey from the Congregational Development Office will be there to lead the event. There is no fee to attend but we do need to know how many people are coming. So please register before April 3, 2019 by clicking the link below ehqab&oeidk=a07eg6c7jdl1a66dc7d ST.
