3 From Psalm 36 (Please join the choir in singing the Antiphon) The Second Lesson Corinthians 12:1-11 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says "Let Jesus be cursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.

The Gospel John 2:1-11 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." Now standing there were six stone water jars for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to them, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them up to the brim. He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the chief steward." So they took it. When the steward tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

6 Fraction anthem COMMUNION OF THE PEOPLE All baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion. Communion is distributed at the altar rail and at a "standing station" at the base of the chancel steps. Persons wishing to receive at the standing station will please form a line on the "pulpit side" (left side) of the center aisle. Persons receiving at the rail will form a line on the "lectern side" (right side) of the center aisle. If you are unable to come forward to receive, please notify one of the ushers, and communion will be brought to your pew. Those persons desiring special prayers for healing are invited to go to the chapel after receiving communion. A lay prayer minister or a member of the clergy will be there to pray with you. 9 Nursery - Children and babies are always welcome in church but if your family would like to utilize our nursery, we have paid staff to care for children (including babies) during Sunday's 9:30 am liturgy. Another option, if your child needs a break during the service, you are welcome to use the library, where the service can still be heard. If you need help finding the nursery or the library, please ask an usher. Children's Chapel at the 9:30 am Liturgy - Children's chapel is for children ages Children who want to participate in Children's Chapel may follow Katie Wiese out of the Nave, following the "Collect of the Day." Children rejoin their families at the sharing of the "Peace." Christian Formation for Elementary Students - Sunday School will begin immediately following the 9:30 am Liturgy and end at 11:30 am. Today at the Adult Forum Please join Joyce Squire from Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity for a presentation in the parish hall at 11:00 am this morning. Lector Training Workshop Gary Manning and Bob Strange will be meeting with the Lectors at 11:00 am in the worship space this morning. The workshop, which will be minutes in length, will cover many of the basics of this important Ministry of the Word. The Parish office is closed on Monday, January 21 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Trinity Church will be electing new Vestry members at the Parish Meeting on January 27, Candidates must be Communicants in Good Standing who are willing to be elected and to serve faithfully in the best interest of Trinity Church. 11 January Bottle Cap Collection Please bring in plastic bottle caps for a local school project. Information on the acceptable bottle caps needed to build a "Buddy Bench" is taped to a table in the Narthex and on the kitchen counter. Additional information about building a "Buddy Bench" is near the collection site. Thanks for your help. The First Friday Family Fellowship group will gather on Friday, February 1 at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall for food and fellowship. Trinity will welcome Debra Fields, Community Engagement Coordinator for Sojourner Family Peace Center on Sunday, February 3 at 11:00 in the Parish Hall. Ms. Fields will share the mission of a landmark Milwaukee institution dedicated to assisting women and children overcome situations of domestic violence and start on paths leading to goals and dreams. She will tell us about the new justice center model building and how Trinity's contributions over the years have been put to good use. A Little Time, A Big Difference On Friday, February 8, at 10:00 a.m., we will be making bagged lunches here at Trinity. These lunches will be handed out at The Gathering as guests leave the Saturday lunch program. It usually takes us about an hour as we talk, laugh, and make a PB and J sandwiches. Please join us!
