Parents and godparents must attend a baptismal preparation class before the baptism. Other requirements will be discussed at the initial interview. Matrimony-Weddings are celebrated throughout the year. In accord with Church Law, at least one of the parties to be married must be a member of St. Joseph, otherwise special permissions are needed. Marriage preparation is to begin at least 6 months prior to the wedding. It is strongly recommended that a couple planning to be married at St. Joseph contact the Parish before making any contractual arrangements with a facility for their reception. During the initial interview with the priest of the Parish, the couple will be provided with all the necessary information needed for their preparation expenence. 3 Arizona Rosary Celebration Coming in Three Weeks The Arizona Rosary Celebration in the Diocese of Tucson will be held in just three short weeks on Saturday, October 20, The annual Arizona Rosary Celebration begins 10:00 a.m. with priests available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the celebration begins. Also, before the event, enjoy a pre-program concert at 9:30 a.m. The main program runs until 12: 15 p.m. The Most Rev. Edward J. Weisenburger, Bishop of Tucson, will preside. This year's guest speaker is Most Rev. Patrick Zurek, Bishop of Amarillo. Be part of the largest continuous annual Catholic Rosary gathering in the United States. Important Dates: No classes on October 7th, TUSD Fall Break 7th Grade to High School Students Life Teen/ Confirmation: HOST FAMILIES NEEDED NET Ministries will be at Saint Joseph Parish on Sunday, October 7 to conduct a day long retreat for our Life Teen students. NET (National Evangelization Team) are young Catholics who travel around the country ministering to and evangelizing Catholic youth. Each team consists of 10 young adults (college age). Saint Joseph Parish will need to provide housing and meals for these young evangelist. NET was last at our parish in 2016 and the families that hosted them felt blessed after welcoming them into their homes. We are in need of families that can accommodate two persons each. If you are willing to open your home to the NET Team members for two nights please contact the parish office and leave a message for Miguel. Certainly there will be room in homes for these weary travelers at a parish under the patronage of Saint Joseph? 6 SCHOOL NEWS Guardian Angel Fund Saint Joseph's has 211 students in the school. This is wonderful news. Kathy van Loan and I do not want to refuse anyone a Catholic Education. There are some families that are large, and need your help. Even with scholarship money and making payments many find themselves overwhelmed. I am pleading to you to, be a Guardian Angel! I myself was sponsored throughout my Catholic School Education by a wonderful lady named, Colleen Newman, now deceased. My parents wouldn't have been able to pay the tuition for all 13 of their children if not for help from generous people like Colleen.
