Music for Settling Evoking the Mystery Silent Rest You are invited to sit quietly in the silence without any expectation of what you ought to be thinking. Don t worry about sounds from children or colds simply let them float into and out of your attention. And if you find it difficult to settle your thoughts, contemplate the following: Listen to the beating of your heart it will tell you what makes you fully alive

2 Examen For that which, then, I thought was right have mercy, God. For that which, now, I regret forgive me, God. For that which, hence, I know not what to do guide me, God. Come and rest, come and listen. Know that grace, forgiveness and guidance are available to you at each and every moment that we turn to receive them. Thanks be to God. Opening Song Children are invited to follow the banner to Kingdom Kid s Worship Ride On, Ride On (sing to the tune of My Hope is Built ) FIND The Psalmist s Prayer Psalm 4: 1; 6-8 Listen for the calm in the storm Listen for the calm in the storm Listen for the calm in the storm Listen, God is singing, God is singing Some of the redeemed had gone out on the ocean in ships, making their living on the high seas. They saw what the Lord had made; they saw God s wondrous works in the depths of the sea. God spoke and stirred up a storm that brought the waves up high. The waves went as high as the sky; they crashed down to the depths. The sailors courage melted at this terrible situation. They staggered and stumbled around like they were drunk. None of their skill was of any help. So they cried out to the Lord in their distress, and God brought them out safe from their desperate circumstances. Sung Response God quieted the storm to a whisper; the sea s waves were hushed. So they rejoiced because the waves had calmed down; then God led them to the harbor they were hoping for. Let them thank the Lord for this faithful love and God s wondrous works for all people. Let them exalt God in the congregation of the people and praise God in the assembly of the elders. 3 Seeking the Word Matthew 26:36-46 The scripture in our series is being done in an abridged lectio divina format which means divine reading. We will hear the scripture read once and then let that resonate for a bit with some music for the inward journey. 4 Feel free to visit any or all of the prayer stations: Kneel and make a prayerful commitment (altar rail) Light a candle for whatever prayerful purpose (back of sanctuary) Journal or draw in the prayer insight booklet (pick up booklet in center aisle) Write a prayer request for yourself or someone else (both outer aisles) Write something you need to let go of and dissolve it in water (back near sound booth) Ring a chime as a prayer for clarity (front corner near praise team instruments) Mold something out of clay as a symbol of new creation (front pew near organ) Present your tithes and offerings (near middle entrance doors) Please leave the prayer insight booklet in your pew after the service and we will redistribute them next week so that we can experience each other s wisdom so keep that in mind when you write in the booklet. Infants and Toddlers Your little ones are welcome to stay with you during the worship service; however, we have a staffed nursery and toddler room available for infants through 2 years-old, or a cry room for your use at the back of the sanctuary. Children in Worship Children ages 3yrs-6th grade are invited to Kingdom Kids Children s Worship by following the Kingdom Kids banner during the Opening Hymn, except on 5th Sundays. Children will stay in the sanctuary to worship with their families on those dates. Child Check-in The Children s Department uses a computer check-in procedure to ensure the safety of our children. Please visit the check-in station located at the entrance to the Kingdom Kids Hallway in order to register your child(ren) ages 3 yrs-5th grade. The Altar Flower sign-up sheet is on the Welcome Desk in the lobby. Sign up for your preferred date today. Cost is now $30 per bouquet. If you are able, please pay this amount going forward.
