3 October 28, th Sunday in Ordinary Time CATHOLIC CHARITIES SENIOR HOUSING MEETING If you would like to learn more about a possible senior housing project on our campus, please join Fr. Tim and Rob McCann from Catholic Charities, on Tuesday, Oct 30, 6:00pm in the church. This is an opportunity to ask questions, offer input and suggestions for this project. ALL SAINTS AND ALL SOULS Each year, as the Church celebrates the Feast of All Saints and the Commemoration of All Souls, we enter the final weeks of the liturgical year leading to the Feast of Christ the King. It is always a forward-looking time as we anticipate not only the second coming of Christ, but the renewal and re-creation of all that is. It is also a time of joyful anticipation of reunion with all those who have gone before us. The invitation to prayer for a funeral vigil reminds us: we believe that all the ties of love and affection that knit us together in life, do not unravel in death This means that those who have loved us, continue to love us, and hold us in prayer until that time when we are gathered together in the fullness of the Kingdom of God. Our hope, as Christians, is in that promised Kingdom in which death has been conquered and the love which we share with one another will be brought to its fulfillment too. For this reason, during the month of November, we remember the lives of our loved ones: those who have loved us into life and those whom we have loved as they have passed into the arms of the Lord. Remembrance is always bittersweet they have passed beyond the reach of our arms, but not beyond the reach of our prayers. The formally recognized saints of the Church are joined with the informally recognized saints of our lives until the time we are reunited in the mercy and love of our God. will be at 8:45am and 7:00pm on Wed, November 1, for the Feast of All Saints ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL This weekend is Commitment Weekend for the Annual Catholic Appeal. MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT WORKSHOPS The Spokane County Library District will host Medicare Open Enrollment Workshops at five of its libraries in partnership with Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) and Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA). BOOK FAIR will kick off Sun, Nov 4th after both es. This is a good time to get some early Christmas presents there will be a great selection of books for all ages, as well as many items from Kaufers. Our Book Fair will be run November 4-8 in the Multi-Purpose room. MASS AND VETERAN S CELEBRATION will be on Wed, Nov 7 at 8:45am in the church. We encourage all school and parish members to invite veterans to this special and celebration. We would like to honor the local heroes in our community and filling out a hero information paper that is located on the shelf under the school bulletin board in the entry of the church. For those who've experienced the death of a loved one the holidays can trigger tough emotions.
