A welcoming instruction for parents and god -parents is usually held the second Sunday of the Month after the 10:30AM Mass. STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT Sixth Sunday of Easter Jesus commandment is that His disciples love one another, even to the point of laying down their lives, if necessary. What gifts of myself my skills and talents, my time and resources will demonstrate my love for God s people? (Our Sunday Visitor, ibid., p. 18). Spiritual Life Team Meet & Greet Come and join us for a visit with the historical Mary, His Mother. The morning session will gather for after the 8AM Mass on Tuesday, May 8 in the Fr. Unsworth Hospitality Room for our program. The evening program will be that Tuesday evening at 7 pm in the Unsworth Center. The Spiritual Life Team is looking for several people who would be willing to help plan events like the Agape Meal. We need idea people to bounce ideas off one another to plan. We plan on meeting 3 to 4 times a year. Our first meeting will be in early September to plan for Advent. I hope you will join us because your input into the life of the parish is important to us. There are no qualifications; just a desire to help plan events and share ideas. Mother s Day, May 13th: Once again we will provide an opportunity to remember your mother on Mother s Day. Envelopes are available for your use at the entrances of church. For each $5 donation, a rose will be purchased for our altar on Mother s Day weekend. All names submitted (living or deceased) will be remembered at all the Masses on Mother s Day weekend. Please return your envelope as soon as possible so proper arrangements can be made. There are a number of 8:00AM Weekday & 7:00PM Sunday Masses available. If interested please call the office. If you are alienated or upset, we welcome you lovingly. If you are in need of forgiveness, Jesus forgives and loves you unconditionally, and so do we. If you have been hurt by the church, we are truly sorry. If you are angry, Jesus offers you peace. If life is becomes burdensome, we are happy to support you. We are happy you are here and want you to stay. Come visit us each week and worship God with us! This year The Diocese of Fall River is very blessed to have one young man being ordained to the transitional diaconate and three men to be ordained priests. Please plan on attending these great gifts of Holy Orders being given to them at The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in Fall River. Ryan Healy is to be ordained a Transitional Deacon on Saturday, May 19th at 11:00am. Deacons Matthew Gill, Juan Carlos Munoz, and Daniel Nunes are to be ordained to the Priesthood on Saturday, June 9th at 11:00am. If you can please join us for these beautiful

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES 2018 CHILDREN S LITURGY OF THE WORD (CLOW): This ministry involves participants to share the Word of God with children pre-school through Grade 3. Children are blessed during a Sunday morning Mass and are sent forth with adult leaders to the Memorial Chapel. Using approved texts that follow the same readings that adults share on each Sunday, the children listen and respond to the Word of God. They listen to an age-appropriate homily by one of the adult team members. They join the assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We are looking to form a team of Adults to lead our young people. Quo Vadis Days RCIA I have called you by name" Isaiah 43:1. Pamphlets explaining the process of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults are available at each entrance of the church. New class will begin in September. Please call the Parish Office if interested. Have you experienced an Emmaus Retreat? Emmaus is a retreat for men and women (ages 20+) who seek to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, regardless of their present level of faith or practice. We want to invite you to join us on our next Emmaus weekend. You will be welcomed by a loving community, spend time in personal and communal prayer, and celebrate the sacraments. The next Emmaus is June 8th-10th at Cathedral Camp in East Freetown, MA. This retreat/ camp is a great time for boys ages to seek to grow in their faith and fraternity, learning how to discern what is one of the most important things in their life: their vocation. Pro Life Boot Camp At Pro Life Boot Camp, we dis- cuss important matters in our Catholic faith that many young people question today. During the weekend, we play games, travel throughout the community, and have group discussions with other young people interested in life and the Catholic faith s view of the world. This camp runs from Thursday July 19 to Saturday July 22 at Stonehill College. 5 CORI renewals are now due. Please pick them up in the Priest s sacristy this weekend. Eucharistic Minister and lector renewal forms are also included for anyone in these ministries. All forms must be completed fully and returned to the office ASAP. Anyone who does not renew their CORI will not be able volunteer or serve in their ministry. Volunteers who have previously been CORIed and would like to renew, please call Dave Beaulieu at the office. (Volunteers for any church function must complete a CORI check every year.) A GENTLE REMINDER! Think of our beautiful church building as your home. Just as you always want your home to be ready to welcome guests and visitors, please be conscious of picking up after you and your family at the end of Mass, readying the church for others. Please replace the hymnals in the book racks attached to the backs of the pews so we all make the church ready to welcome others for worship. Thanks for your help! The Catholic Charities Appeal No Gift is too Small! There is no such thing as a gift too small! Every contribution to the Catholic Charities Appeal is greatly appreciated and is an affirmation of the programs that concretely express the belief in the inherent value of every human life and the dignity of every individual. Please give as generously as you can to the 2018 Catholic Charities Appeal! Tens of thousands of people in southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and the Islands are ministered to by programs supported by the Appeal. 94 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to the agencies and apostolates funded by the Annual Appeal. During the month of May, we recite the rosary before the 8:30 and 10:30 Masses as well as the usual 4PM Mass. Please try to come to mass a little earlier to pray the rosary together.
