1 Trinity Trumpet January 2015 From the Interim Rector... The Open Door On December 9 th, I published the first of an ongoing, almost weekly E-newsletter that went out to those of you whose addresses are on file in the parish office. With the assistance of Paige King, who knows about things called Mail Chimp and distribution lists and so on, I hope to use the e-news medium as another way of communicating with as many of Trinity s members and friends as possible. Because not everyone who may be reading this first issue of The Trinity Trumpet of 2015 may receive , I am repeating my first Open Door article here. If at any time you would like to receive these as a hard copy, please request one through Jan Hammett in the parish office. I look forward to more exciting ministry in God s name with and through you in 2015! -reposted from The Open Door, Issue 1, December 9, 2014 Welcome, friends! Thank you for allowing me to visit with you each week through the medium of and the Trinity website! We have been interim priest and congregation for six months and we are a people engaged in meaningful worship and ministry, lively planning, learning and fellowshipping if that s a word! With so much to accomplish for God s ministry here, there is always the danger of our stepping over the line from purposeful activity to just plain ole busyness. We can lose our bearings and focus. For that reason I hope to offer in this place each week a virtual gathering place for grounding and examining our common life. In a word, let s stop, take a breath, look at the larger picture and prepare ourselves for more days of service to each other and to the world in God s name. So please come in, friend the door is open. Take off your frustrations with some process or other, remove your irritations with another, hang up your judgments and your gossip in fact, toss those in the waste basket! This is a safe place where we may look at our family lovingly and honestly. Notice that the door is for both entering and leaving, as we are to gather only to disperse into the world with the good news of Jesus the Christ. Dorothy+

Trinity Parish is pleased to announce we will be participating in the Predators fellowship night. We have secured 40 seats to the March 7th game vs. the Winnipeg Jets at 6. The cost of the ticket is $40 person, however these are in the all you can drink, and eat zone. You receive unlimited food and non-alcoholic drinks, a fellowship night shirt, a tour of the facility, and our name on the megatron. This is a great value and opportunity. Discounted parking is available, and we can try to set up carpooling. Please sign up for this event on the bulletin board outside Dorothy Conroy Hall, or Nicole Bartnik to register or get more info at niki815@yahoo.com. The tour of the facility will start about 3, you do not have to be there for this. I need a final list of everyone who is attending by February 12th, and I will need the money by February 15th. I can take credit cards for this event. It is imperative we get a complete attendance list as soon as possible so if we need more seats we can get them. As of now I have 20 seats remaining. Hurry don't miss this opportunity for fellowship and lots of fun!

Please contact me at johnmarkhunter3@gmail.com if you are unable to serve at the time you are scheduled. It is quite simple for the vergers to make a replacement. We discourage the practice of lay servers swapping dates as that increases the chance for confusion. The vergers at Trinity are Katie Dean, Liz Holt, Mark Hunter, and Chris Smith. The verger of the day will have made all adjustments by for the principal service. Any personnel adjustments after that time are likely to lead to confusion and should be avoided. Mark
