1 February 2010 Welcome to the Inside Line for February! The Fast Lane is a network within CMA that focuses primarily on ministry to sport bikers, dual sport riders, and quad sport riders. Our goals are to see the lost saved and to develop chapters within CMA to accomplish ministry in these areas. The Fast Lane is what you make it. We have members across the country doing different things to be active in ministry. Some are attending races, some are holding Fast Lane rides, and others are meeting with local clubs and web forum members and attending their events. They are the leaders of the Fast Lane in their areas, striking out to do what they can and working to get others that are interested in ministry to this segment of riders enthused about doing the work also. John Jr - National Evangelist - Fast Lane So far this year has been a time of reflecting and rebuilding myself spiritually. I have felt led to make several personal changes within my life, and out of that, I am feeling the results a strengthened spirit, a clearer mind, and more energy. Some of the books I am reading, in most circles at best, could be described as controversial, but if you would like to travel on this journey with me and see what God does in your life, I will be happy to fill you in. I started this year out focusing on a few of the books about Smith Wigglesworth. They have titles such as, Smith Speaks to the College Students, Ever Increasing Faith, and Smith Wigglesworth on the Holy Spirit. I have also started reading The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. Mixed in, there have also been sermons that I am reading by John Wesley. Obviously, you cannot the leave the Word of God out of any of this, and I have not. The thing that comes most notably to my mind with these books is the building of my faith. As I read and believe the stories of the miraculous that was done by Jesus through Smith and others, it cannot help but to build my faith. As I read Peale s book, I find practical applications of faith, which are changing my outlook on life and drawing me toward God s goodness. As I experience these changes, I am noticing that they are not contained; rather, they are starting to change the lives of those around me. Obviously the first group to be changed has been my family, who has the opportunity to put up with me. From there, my friends and acquaintances who seem to be struggling in one area or another have been affected. These faith-building books and exercises not only build my faith to dare to believe God, but they also allow me to see into other people s lives and how God would have me reach out to them, helping to develop game plans in their lives to overcome. So, I challenge you, regardless of what books you read or endeavors in the spirit, to develop a game plan to overcome the obstacles in your life that hold you back from being the person God has called you to be.

2 February Inside Line Holly Ogden - CMA National - Fast Lane W e l - come 2010! This year started out with a many opportunities to excel, as we tend to call problems that arise in CMA. For the past month, it has felt like my family has been in a pressure cooker set on boil. In the midst of all of this turmoil, I have found an amazing sense of peace that is refreshing. About a week ago, a major storm was raging outside our house. John was gone on a trip, and I was tired. My first concern was that Bekah, who hates storms, would end up trying to sleep with me because they scare her so much, so that night as I we prayed together, I asked for God s peace to rain down on us (no pun intended). That night, we all slept soundly. When I went to work the next morning, I was surprised by the conversations everyone was having about how rough the storms had been and at how they weren t able to sleep because of the thunder, lightning, and pounding rain. As far as I knew, the storms had stopped and they had for us. God had shielded us. Then a few days later, more problems struck us. My car broke down (serious engine problems), and I received information that my grandpa is getting close to passing away. Unable to handle the emotions rolling around inside, I broke down in tears, sobbing to God that I needed Him to help me I couldn t handle the problems, I needed Him. Oh how He has responded! When I closed my eyes, I could see myself as a dried out person, being held in His arms. Later, I saw myself in a fountain, splashing around and enjoying the water like there was no tomorrow. Many places in the Bible describe God s Spirit as water. For me, I had been away from the water for so long, caught up in the struggles that we were facing, that I was losing my thirst, the drive to keep pushing in to God. But, now everything has changed. As I have been reading a book on prayer by E.M. Bounds, it stated that it is the depth and strength of spiritual desire that gives intensity and depth to prayer...desire is intense, but narrow. As I pondered those statements, I realized that in all of my praying, I have neglected to set my heart to one desire, I have been like a scatter gun shooting bullets into the darkness. With that in mind, I began thinking about what I should be desiring. I thought about David being called a man after God s own heart. He was someone who pursued God and didn t let social etiquette get in the way of lavishing his love on God. From that, I set my (Continued on page 5) Tim Bernard Idaho, Utah, Nevada Fast Lane Rep I really wanted to compete in the Idaho Rally, but I had second thoughts because I felt I was not good enough to do the navigating. I decided I would wait and see what the event was like and maybe try it next time. This was the fourth year for the Idaho Rally, previously it had been open to just rally cars, but this was the first year it was open to motorcycles. This rally is part of a series in the Northwest with other rallies in Washington and Oregon that have both bikes and cars running. John, one of the promoters had approached me about putting together a team of volunteers to run security on one of the legs of the rally. I told John I would do what I could but my schedule had me out of town the prior 5 out of 6 weekends and I would not be around for the meetings, so I would need to perform a lesser role for him. As we talked I asked John about who was praying for the Idaho Rally at the event and he said, You are. Great, I said. What do you want me to do? John asked me to help recruit volunteers and be there Friday and Saturday morning to open in prayer. When I arrived Thursday night at the staging area in Mountain Home, Idaho, I walked through the pits and was in awe of the cars. Then I saw a couple of the rally bikes; I was really envious now! The next morning I got up just as the sun was rising and found God had made a special flag for us with clouds, making streaming banners of orange, yellow, and red radiate from the mountain range to our (Continued on page 4)

3 Page 3 Denver Dennis - Arkansas Fast Lane Rep Here we are with 2010 in full swing! The cold weather has reduced the number of riders and rides taking place, but don t worry, things will soon be warm! Riders will be everywhere and rides will be happening all around us. I like to use this time to reflect on last year and plan for the year ahead. A couple of my personal favorite large secular events are Mud Nationals in Jacksonville, TX and The Marengo Suicide Swamp Ride in Hebert, LA. CMA has had a presence at these events for the last few years so, if you can, please make plans to ride and help with these events. We will have quad rides at the CMA National Rally held at Iron Mountain, the Changing of the Colors Rally, and the Carving the Ouachitas VI Fast Lane Rally this year. With the changing rules, for forest roads and trail access to motorized vehicles where we ride may change. We have ridden at Wolf Pen Gap Trail system for the last several years, but the open dates may be changing. Don t be alarmed, we still have lots of great riding left in this area! I am looking at this as an opportunity to get out and ride some new areas and some that I just haven t ridden in awhile. In other words, go ahead and start planning now to attend the CMA events and bring your quad because it s going to be great! Robert DuMond - North East Texas Fast Lane Rep Time to start a new year. Thankfully, here in Texas we can ride year round. We just had the Big Texas Toy Run before Christmas. An estimated 60,000 bikes participated, making it the largest one-day motorcycle event in the world. There were lots of sport bikes and clubs in attendance. I tried to meet as many as I could, but there was no way to meet them all. I am very excited about Here in Texas, the motocross season kicks off in January with the AMA Texas Winter Series. Then in February, road racing starts with CMRA. North Texas' CMA Seasons of Refreshing is also early in the year here, and I am eager to attend this year. That means there is always an opportunity to mingle and spread God's love in the motorcycle community, even if you don't participate in these events. I was talking with the president of the Houston Fast Lane chapter (Bobby Lee of God's Extreme Team) and he told me that a motorcycle drag racing series from that area is expanding into the North Texas area this year. Pencil in more dates on the calendar! Fast Lane really covers a WIDE variety of interests. There are dual sports, drag racers, road racers, stunters, ATV/quads, and street sport bikes. Each has their own style, equipment, and language. God has always used various people for His purposes. Shepherds, doctors, fishermen, tax collectors, carpenters, etc. No matter your background, be available and He will use you. It's all about attitude. Drop ours and assume His. Go to an event and be a humble servant. I know you've heard it said we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Or, as my granddad used to always say, "An empty can rattles loudest." Listen for opportunities to connect, say enough to open doors, and profess Jesus without getting "self" in the way. People are seeking answers, and we can live out and offer the one Truth.

I had started brewing coffee for those who would be making the final preparation in the pits on all the vehicles before the rally started. It was not too long until the time had come for the driver s meeting and all the participants were assembled. The whistle was blown and all were called to the meeting for the last instructions. When John introduced that CMA was there to pray for the rally, some cheers came up and I thought, Whoa, this must be a Pentecostal Rally. As I prayed over everyone I could sense that there were those there that truly coveted God s prayer. The final preparations were being made and everyone was synchronizing their clocks with the starting clock. It was at that time I realized just how diverse this crowd of participants and spectators were, yet they were all drawn together by a common thread, a rally. I had met a very outgoing mother and daughter team the night before and the daughter, they were running their own car; dad had his own car, and two brothers each had their own car. It turned out they all worked in the father s accounting firm. You could say they definitely knew the cost of what it took to Rally, yet they did it as a family and enjoyed the fellowship of all the participants on the Rally circuit. I went into my motor home for some quiet time and prayer before the first of cars were to be called to the starting line, and thought about the Bike Blessing stickers I had in our ministry toolbox. I gathered them up and headed back out the door into the pits. The bikes were all together for pictures. One of the riders asked if I had any stickers from my business because they wanted to be my team, and I had to explain that I had something better for them. I pulled out the Blessing Stickers and asked if they wanted their bikes blessed. One rider put the Blessing sticker on the front of his bike, another placed his on the rear of the bike, and another rider said he needed to put it where he could see it because he would have to do his part to. Wow that really hit home, we ask God for His prayer covering, yet so often we forget that we have to do our part also. By now, I was really excited for all of the riders and drivers, yet I was feeling sorry for myself about not making a choice to be able to compete. Then the time had come, and the starter made the call for the bikes to be staged. They were lined up to receive their invitation to start the race. Then they were off. I sat behind them quite a ways, because I was not allowed down the special lane or through the gates for the great adventure. I was suited up to head out and be a spectator of the event and you really could not tell the difference between me and competitors. The starter would never call me to go through those gates, yet I knew everyone and they really wanted me to share in the excitement, but still I was not allowed to because I had not made the commitment in time. I had not made the decision to commit to the race and my exact minute to start the race would never be called. Now there was not even an option of late registration and paying more, the rules were clear, and I could not participate. I felt miserable inside, yet I cheered as each bike left and they waved at me, but I could not join them because of that commitment I had not made. I learned a lot that weekend and was able to share with a lot of different people. This event will happen again, and I will have another opportunity to make that choice of entering. What I desire most in life is to draw closer to Him, dance with Him freely, and act when He calls me into action, unafraid of what people might think of me. I have seen some of the fruits of this focusing in on God in many areas of my life. One of the areas is in my prayer life. Prayers that I am praying, no matter how simple or complex, are being answered in mighty ways. In my heart, I feel a gushing joy, just wanting to share with those around me some of the lessons I have had to learn, but the freedom that has come to me in doing so. It is amazingly freeing when you realize that God, Who is timeless, chose and continually chooses, to give up all the power of heaven to come down in the form of Jesus and die for me so that I might have an abundant life. He dies daily that we might live, and live victoriously. Do you see the awesomeness and the power of that? You don't have to be beat down by what you are facing. You don t have to bow under the intense pressure squeezing you from every angle. Set your heart to desire God, and through that He will bring a mighty transformation. He will give you the strength and resources to stand. He will give you the legs like a deer so you can climb the steep mountains. Even when you do not feel like trying anymore, which is exactly how I felt before this time, just keep pressing in. I encourage you, as you gear up for a year of breaking ground in new territories, set your focus on growing closer to the heart of God and you will find miracles surrounding your life and opening doors that you could never have imagined would be opened. Continue to drink the water and seek Him with reckless abandon, you won t be disappointed!
