The Mayfest committee will consolidate all comments for a report to Mission Ministry. Mission Ministry will present a final Mayfest 2018 Wrap Up! to the Session to be included in the Session meeting minutes. All Session minutes are available for view on the FPC website fpcgreenville.org. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Be sure and mark your calendar for our VBS week June 11-14. This year our theme is Babylon: Daniel s Courage in Captivity. All week we will be learning how God s power and love gave courage and wisdom to Daniel and his friends. God has given Daniel special gifts and we will be exploring how God used Daniel to show the people how our God is the only true God. Each day we will begin in the sanctuary to meet in our tribes and learn our Bible verse for the day. Afterward we will go the Marketplace to learn more about Babylon and to experience some hands-on crafts and cooking. Registration ends May 27. Forms are on the table by the elevator in the welcome center. If you are a traveler this year (4th and 5th graders), be sure to pick up your registration forms on the table as well. Forms are also available on our web site under Education Ministry. Please sign up to help provide snacks for VBS on the table by the elevator. The church office will be closed Monday, May 28, for Memorial Day. The next edition of our printed publication, FOCUS, will be published on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Please submit all articles to janice@fpcgreenville.org by 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION NEWS A big thank you to all of this year s Sunday School teachers! Because of your teaching and support, we have all grown in our faith journey and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We appreciate all the time and talent that you gave to all of us this year. VBS Training will be Thursday night, June 7, 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. If you are volunteering, please plan to attend. Thanks, Kathleen Williams and Caroline Whaley The Children s Worship class will meet Sunday, May 27, after A Time for Young Disciples. We will meet in the downstairs fellowship hall. CHURCH DIRECTORY Dave McNeilly, Interim Pastor Amanda Hines, Associate Pastor Kathleen Williams, Director of Christian Education Karrie Rushing, Director of Music Brian Dilday, Youth Director Brad Collier, Organist Deborah Durham, Financial Administrator Janice Gray, Office Administrator Terrence Clemons, Sexton Hello All! First of all, thank you so much to all who attended and participated in the second Mission Statement Gathering held on Sunday past! We had a fine turnout and accomplished a great deal. I ll be getting out a second summary sheet to all of the church in next week s newsletter plus adding some recent good news from Presbytery concerning our upcoming search. For now thanks to all who have taken part in the opening effort at seeking a new pastor for FPC! Second, at its May meeting held on Sunday, May 20, our Session decided to make some changes to our summer worship starting time. For the next two Sundays (May 27 and June 3), there will be one service held at 11:00 am. But beginning on Sunday, June 10, we will have one service that will begin at 10:00 am and this 10:00 am starting time will continue throughout the summer months. This is a change from a previous session decision made in January, but a significant majority of Elders were of the current opinion that a 10:00 am starting time would be better for our summer months. So please note the dates/changes and do plan to worship with us over the summer months! And may God bless our ministry! Dave
