Summer is a wonderful season for us to count our many blessings as we bask in the sunshine and lush beauty around us. The season may be changing but our awareness of the guiding hand of God remains secure. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 * * * * * A Prayer of Thanks by Bob Hostetler, Pray Effectively Thank you, God, for the pleasures of summer, the bright sunny days and perfect moonlit evenings, the smells of mowed grass and air thick with rain. Thank you for days at the lake and evenings chasing fireflies, for vacations and festivals, picnics and cookouts, baseball and concerts and swimsuits and popsicles. Thank you for the fireworks of thunderstorms, for watermelon sweetness, for summer s pace and summer s grace, for all Your beauty and power, faithfulness and abundance displayed in summer, Amen. Notes from Session: Our annual Ice Cream Social has been moved up one week this year to Sunday, August 12, serving at 5:00 p.m. Watch for Minutes for Ministry by our Session elders. Session is exploring use of TV screens in the sanctuary and gallery. The Wayne Presbyterian Women s Study Group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month, Aug. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gallery We will be discussing the book Bad Girls of the Bible Chapter 4: Dying for a Drink

They even took on the task of reorganizing and cleaning the kitchen! 10 People to People Needs: Hi, my name is Theresa Markley and I am the new Pantry Coordinator for People to People Ministries. This time of year we are very low on donations and we appreciate anything people can give to our ministry. Some items in particular that we really need are: Canned Fruit Peanut Butter Cereal Spaghetti Sauce Any canned vegetables Soups Juices I thank you in advance for any donations your congregation can give, and we also would appreciate your prayers for us to be able to provide to our clients in their time of need.
