To All Princess Dads, Consider Being An Officer for 2018!!!!!! Please consider being an officer for Nominations Started in September and most of the positions are open for 2018, meaning that dads in good standing with the organization can run for election (or audition in the case of the Storyteller position). Even if someone else is running for a given position, if you are interested in it run for it! Having more people running makes it more fun for everyone. Listed below are the names of each position with a brief description of what it entails. If you would like to know more, feel free to ask current or former officer about their experiences. Elections will be held at the December Frontier meeting. See Scott Miller or Vito Cimino to nominate someone to run for a position. I hope you will consider it! Thanks, Scott Miller (2017 Trail Boss) Officer Positions for 2018 Position Description Election Status Nomination Name(s) 1 Trail Boss Responsible for all activities Closed Vito Cimino 2 Elder Supports Trail Boss as necessary Closed Scott Miller 3 Asst Trail Boss Works with Trail Boss to learn Open future responsibilities 4 Treasure Keeper Tracks all financial transactions Open Nick Kishmarton 5 Fire Maker Organizes and runs all council Closed Jimmy Graham fires 6 Asst. 6 Officer Expectations So, you think you might like to be an officer! You might ask what does that mean? What is expected of me if I were to become an officer? In anticipation of those questions, here is a brief summary of the general expectations of any officer, regardless of the position that you might hold. (Check the Princess Member Handbook for specific detailed responsibilities for each officer position). If you have questions, feel free to contact any officer or me to find out more. I hope you join us! Thanks, Scott Miller, 2017 Trail Boss (Excerpts from officer expectations and conduct guidelines) You represent the organization as an officer at all times; both at and away from Princess Events you are viewed by others as representing the group. Set the right example at all times You have a duty to support the organization in decisions both big and small. What is right for the program, and what is right for the kids should guide us in making the right decision. It is our duty to preserve this program that we currently enjoy, for the benefit of those that will come in later years. Throughout the year all officers have assigned responsibilities. Some are clearly stated in the handbook and by-laws and some are not. Regardless of where the assignment comes from whether it is voluntary or a requirement of your elected position we are all counting on you to meet your commitment. It is the responsibility of all officers to attend all Officer and Frontier meetings. Be prepared to discuss any action items that you might have. Territory Scouts should be prepared to speak on behalf of their Territories. There are a number of events during the year where support from the general officer group is needed in order to be successful. The Mardi Gras fundraiser, the Guides Night at the Races, and supporting the council fires at campouts are several of the main ones. Even though you might not be the specific officer assigned to coordinate the event, we will all need to pitch in to make sure things run smoothly. Future officers: We need your help in identifying possible candidates for future officer positions. Without good leadership going forward, the organization will eventually fail. We need to make sure that does not happen.

SUN TERRITORY REPORT: Ageyutsa Yetta Hey! Hard to believe summer is over and the girls are back in school! We had a great month in August with all the events of the Fluff Raid, the NR Home Days parade (congrats to Adventure Princesses for getting best float!!), and Breakfast in the Park. As if that wasn t enough fun stuff, we also got our entire Outpost together for a day on Lake Erie boating, tubing and swimming! What a way to end a summer! Can t wait for the awesome events this fall! We look forward to seeing everyone soon! Friends Always! The Sunflowers Yetta Hey Princesses! The Sunflowers are back to school and ready for a fun fall! 9 Water Territory Report: Water Sprites Yetta Hey, Nothing to report at this time Go Tribe. Amadahy Angels Yetta Hey! What a fun month we had! We got another piece of the parade patch. 10 Potawatomi Yetta hey, The girls had a good time at the fluff raid. They got to spend some time at the shooting gallery and some of them got really good. They also had fun with cookie frosting (dunking cookies into it) and light up sky thingies. At breakfast in the park, it was fun to watch some dads trying to get the bracelets right and the girls had fun with their kites and panning for gems. The highlight had to be the one on one showdown in the bubbles between John and Veto. -Potawatomi The Fireflies Yetta Hey from the Fireflies! August was another busy month for us. We lit up not only the North Royalton parade but also Breakfast in the Park. If the Fireflies didn't know how to do a square knot before, they sure do now. Thanks to Milo for setting up this for us. We can't wait to see everyone next month: fishing derby! Soaring Phoenix Yetta Hey! What a fluff raid! The Soaring Phoenix had a blast visiting the officers, eating smores, playing mini golf, shooting nerf guns, making dads eat spicy grapes, making cookies, and playing with rocket copters! Jamie and Lyla Snider 2017 Fire Territory Scout

SKY TERRITORY Shooting Stars Yetta Hey! Back to school already. Wow did this summer go fast. August was still full of events for the princesses though. The fluff raid was a real hit at the different officers houses. The parade was a success and the carnival is always a fun thing to do after. We ended the month with a nice relaxing day at the park where we fished, played bubble soccer, road canoes and paddle boats,(too many more fun activities to name) and ate great food. September is a big recruiting month and we would love to see some shooting stars at the events coming up. Friends always, Kelsi and Ryan Scarton, Outpost Scouts Cherokee Rainbows We had so much fun this month. We got to ride in a RV for the fluff raid, marched in the parade and had breakfast in the park! We loved making kites and some even flew! The bracket making was awesome we taught our dads how to tie the knots. Bubble soccer is so much fun. We loved bouncing around. It was funny to see some dads in them too. We're looking forward to September Cherry Blossoms Yetta Hey!! The Cherry Blossoms have enjoyed the Summer...almost as much as the Fluff Raid!! With an eye to the next camp, the girls look forward to more AP events while the Dad's are prepping for the all-nighter in November. Friends Always, Ashlynne, Ava, and Doug Andrassy Outpost Scouts Thanks, Friends Always Tom and Skyler Miller 2017 Sky Territory Scouts

Forest Territory Report Ohcumgache: Yetta Hey from the Ohcumgache! August was a busy month. We enjoyed our first summer fluff raid. The girls enjoyed the shooting range, the setup at Scott's house and the campfire smores and pies. The parade weather was a little hot, but we had fun. At breakfast in the park, the girls were a little nervous about trying bubble soccer but ended up having a lot of fun. The beach, kite making and the playground kept the girls smiling. It was a fun month. Friends Always! Forest Angels: Yetta Hey! Nothing to report at this time Friends Always!! Wally, Sami and Alex Sutkowski 2017 Forest Territory Scout

Storyteller Story Wake me up when September ends! In the meantime, here is a nice quick short story you can share with your princess if she is ever having a hard time. I hope you enjoy. The Thirsty Crow One hot day, a thirsty crow flew all over the fields looking for water. For a long time, she could not find any. She felt very weak, almost giving up hope. Suddenly, she saw a water jug below her. She flew straight down to see if there was any water inside. Yes, she could see some water inside the jug! The crow tried to push her head into the jug. Sadly, she found that the neck of the jug was too narrow. Then she tried to push the jug down for the water to flow out. She found that the jug was too heavy. The crow thought hard for a while. Then looking around her, she saw some pebbles. She suddenly had a good idea. She started picking up the pebbles one by one, dropping each into the jug. As more and more pebbles filled the jug, the water level kept rising. Soon it was high enough for the crow to drink. Her plan had worked! The lesson learned here is If you try hard enough, you may soon find an answer to your problem. -- Chuck and Allison Ricco 2017 Storytellers
