9 Bible Make it True Bible story STICK story- Hello, friends! Come sit here with me. Today s true story from the Bible (hold up Bible) is about a guy named Noah. What was his name? (Hold up Noah) Story props bin: o Noah o Ark o Animals Noah! Awesome. One day, God told Noah to build a really, really, REALLY big boat called an ark. He had never seen a boat that big before. But Noah trusted God and built the ark just like God told him to. So let s pretend we re like Noah building that ark. Quick, everyone cut the wood like this. (Move your arm in a sawing motion.) Now let s hammer in some nails like this. (Move hand as if pounding in a nail.) Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap. Great job! There, Noah s all done building. Everyone clap for Noah! (Lead children to clap.) (Hold up the ark) Now, I wonder what God wants to put inside. Do you know? (Pause.) Believe it or not, God wanted Noah to fill the ark with two of every animal one boy and one girl. Hey, what s your favorite animal? (Pause for responses. Stand up.) Mine walks around like this. (Hold up the animals) (Walk like a penguin.) What am I? (Pause.) A penguin! Stand up and make these animal sounds with me. Let s see, what about an animal with a trunk like this? (Wave arm from mouth like an elephant s trunk and make a trumpet sound.) An elephant! Okay, what about the one that has all the hair around it s face and sounds like this? (Roar like a lion.) Continued on next page
10 Make it True Bible story STICK story- A lion! Noah gathered two of every animal so many animals. Okay, guys, can you help Noah get them on the boat? Everyone say, Animals on board! Animals on board! (Put the animals on a stick down) Great job. After all the animals were on board the ark, God told Noah to get his family and to go inside the ark, and then God closed the door. And that was a good thing, because it soon began to rain! Pat your hands on your legs like this (pat your legs) to make a rain sound. At first, it was just a few drops of rain. But there was more. (Pat legs faster.) And more and more. (Pat legs even faster.) Okay, you can stop patting. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights until the WHOLE world was covered in water. Noah and his family were kept safe on the ark, though, because Noah believed God s promise. Even when we say, WHAAAT? we can believe that God keeps His promises. Tell me: Who keeps His promises? [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. Yes, it s true! [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. Noah trusted that God would keep his family safe in the ark, and we can trust God too. Let s pray. PRAYER God, thank You for the TRUE story of Noah and how he trusted You to keep his family safe by building the ark. Thanks for loving us and for always keeping Your promises. We love You, God. Amen.

One day, God told Noah to build a really, really, REALLY big boat called an ark. Everyone say, WHAAAT? WHAAAT? Yeah, that was how Noah felt because he had never seen a boat that big before. He was like, WHAAAT? but God said, Trust me, Noah! So Noah trusted God and built the ark just like God told him to. So let s pretend we re like Noah building that ark. Quick, everyone cut the wood like this. (Move your arm in a sawing motion.) (To the tune of Sailing, Sailing Over the Bounding Main) Sawing, sawing, sawing the logs in two. Great job! Now let s measure our boards. (Move your arms out to the sides as if measuring them.) Looks like it s about three feet. We re going to need a LOT more wood. Now let s hammer in some nails like this. (Move hand as if pounding in a nail.) Tap, tap, tap. Tap, tap, tap. Great job! There, Noah s all done building. Everyone clap for Noah! (Lead applause.) Great job, Noah! Look at how big that boat is! You got it! God wanted Noah to fill the ark with two of every animal one boy and one girl. Hey, what s your favorite animal? (Pause for responses.) Mine walks around like this. (Walk like a penguin.) (Hop like a bunny.) So many animals. Okay, guys, can you help Noah get them on the boat? Everyone say, Animals on board! Animals on board!
13 Make it True Bible story Acting- Great job. After all the animals were on board the ark, God told Noah to get his family and to go inside the ark, and then God closed the door. And that was a good thing because it soon began to rain! Noah and his family were kept safe on the ark because Noah believed God s promise. Even when we say, WHAAAT? We can believe that God keeps His promises. Tell me: Who keeps His promises? [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. Yes, it s true! [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. Noah trusted that God would keep his family safe in the ark, and we can trust Him too. Let s pray. PRAYER HOST: You know, Noah believed God s promise to take care of him and his family. I think I got the story. Did you get it? If you did, say, Got it! Got it! HOST: Good! God promises to take care of us too. And we can know for sure that [Bottom Line] God keeps His promises. I can trust a fireman, but I can trust God even more. See you next time! 15 Make it real by digging a little deeper and making today's Bible story applicable to a young child's life. Wrap-up pages, in plastic sleeves Prayer journal (chart paper) Marker Make it Stick Wrap-up Goldfish crackers Optional-stickers 1. CHAT AND CHEW 2. PRAY 3. MEMORY VERSE 4. Beginner s Bible Noah s Ark pgs (Hold journal and fun-shaped pen.) (Pre-k/K) CHAT AND CHEW God told Noah to build a boat to keep his family and the animals safe. Noah did what God told him to do. What are some things God has told us to do that we need to do? Love one another? Share with one another? Forgive one another? Be kind to one another? There are lots of things God has told us to do. When I say your name, tell me one thing God has told us to do that you need to do. (Say each child s name and write down what they say. Remember to print the names so the children can recognize their names and the letters.) This is such a great list. Thank you! Would anyone like to pray before I pray? Hang your prayer journal chart page on your door for parents to see! They will love to know you are digging deep with their kiddos! PRAY Dear God, we want to do what You tell us to do, just like Noah did. We believe You keep Your promises and trust that Your plan is always best, even when it s hard or we don t understand. Please help [child s name] to [what they listed] and (repeat for each child). We love You, God! In Jesus name, amen. MEMORY VERSE Trust the Lord (Point both hands up) With all your heart. (Place hands on heart) Proverbs 3:5 (Open hands like a book.)
