BR R Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

When does retention start? Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

ew embers Do they feel welcome? Do they get a membership card? re they contacted regularly (not just an and a dues statement)? re they invited to committees or leadership? Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

ew embers, cont. re they made to feel like a valuable member to the council? ake meetings/activities enjoyable. any aspects of retention go back to the same things we talked about in recruitment nvite them to be active! Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

uspensions/withdrawals Yes, we are going to have suspensions/withdrawals ome will find out the Knights are not what they were looking for at this point in their lives ake sure the process is followed t is easier to suspend 1 or 2 Knights at a time instead of waiting until there are to be suspended Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

Process 1. First otice sent 15 days before billing period (December 15 or June 15) 2. f no payment within 30 days, econd otice sent 3. f no payment within 30 days, names and contact info sent to Retention Committee Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

Retention Committee Who is on the Retention Committee? Retention Chairman (many times the Deputy Grand Knight) he rustees he proposer, if available Who is not on the Retention Committee? Financial ecretary What is the role of the Retention Committee? ach member assigned Brother Knights to personally contact and discuss their situation. What happens if they cannot contact the Knight? ry gain! Use a search tool to obtain valid contact info. Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

earch ools Google search Facebook Linkedn Don t let a bad phone number end the attempted connection! hey may have moved, but may want to transfer to their new parish! Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

Process, cont. 4. Retention Chairman reports back to Grand Knight the results of the contacts. 5. Financial ecretary forwards a Knight lert letter to each who have not made arrangements, signed by the Grand Knight and Retention Chair f financial assistance is needed, the Grand Knight should grant this assistance! 6. fter 15 days of the Knight lert letter, arrangements have not been made, the otice of ntent to Retain is prepared and sent to upreme, signed by the Grand Knight and Financial ecretary Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

7. upreme Knight and tate embership Director mails a letter to the Brother Knight 8. District Deputy will see the name on the Conservation Report and must follow up with the council to determine if the Brother Knight was contacted and responses provided 9. fter 60 days, Form 100 filed with upreme to suspend the member upreme will not file the Form 100 if it has not been 60 days since the otice to Retain was submitted or 90 days after it was submitted Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

Withdrawal withdrawal is another way that a Brother Knight can leave the order his requires a written note from the Knight being sent to the upreme Council requesting their membership to cease. ake this opportunity to reach out to the Brother Knight and correct any issues, show them the value of their membership, and attempt to get them to change their mind he best way to keep them as members is to keep them involved all along and not allow them to get to the point of wanting to end their membership Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

Goal ur goal is to retain as many members as possible. We work hard to get them into our councils and should work even harder to keep them! uspensions are not impossible as some councils describe, but there is a set process that must be followed What is the most important step in this process? Contacting and actually speaking to the Brother Knight before they are delinquent. nd again if delinquent t is a time for us to learn about how we can be better or offer assistance to a brother in need! We owe this to our Brother Knights! Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ

Questions? What questions do you have? Let me know if there is any way that can assist you with any of your membership needs! Bou Gazley tate embership Director (preferred) (507) Be ot fraid, pen the Doors to Christ
