CG: Welcome Slide ( God s Love Don t Stop ) Stop music once all classes are in and on a line. Worship What You Need: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Deuteronomy 10:17. HISTORYTELLER: Good morning, everyone! It s so good to see you today. I can t wait to sing with you today. But first tell me: Who s got it? HISTORYTELLER: Yes, that s right! Let s sing our awesome song about our good, good Father. SFX: Good, Good Father Yay! What incredible singers you are. Who s got it? 1

2 HISTORYTELLER: That s right! [Bottom Line] God s got it. Remember, our memory verse this month tells us all about our good, good Father, our awesome King. Are you ready to do it with me? (Pause.) Introductory Sketch CG: Intro Sketch Video Bible History Lesson What You Need: Bible, an empty 16-oz water bottle, a case of unopened water covered with a sheet (preset onstage) HISTORYTELLER: (Enter carrying a Bible.) Does everyone have your listening ears on? Great! I have a Bible truth to tell you (hold up Bible), but I need your help. Are you ready? Here we go. Our Bible Truth begins in the desert with a mom named Hagar and her son. The desert was HOT. Everyone, please show me what you look like when you re hot! (Pause.) Maybe you ve been outside all afternoon in the sun. You re sweating and hot and tired. (Wipe your brow, pull on the neck of your shirt as if you re fanning yourself, etc.) Whoa, it felt like the temperature just went way up! But Hagar and her son weren t just hot. They were also hungry. Everyone rub your tummy and say, I m hungry. CHILDREN and HISTORYTELLER: I m hungry! 2

3 HISTORYTELLER: And they had no water. (Hold up the empty water bottle. Then turn it upside down and shake it as if looking for water.) Hagar and saw that her son was hungry and thirsty and tired. Everyone show me how you look when you re tired. (Pause.) That s great acting! (Yawn.) Hagar saw how tired her son was, so she had him lie down under a bush for shade and then he started to cry. Everyone hold up your hands to your eyes as if you re crying. (Pause.) Hagar and her son were all alone in the hot desert. It was very sad. No one could hear them crying... well, no one except God! The Bible tells us that an angel called to Hagar. The angel told Hagar that God heard her son s cry and they should not be afraid. Wow! When she opened her eyes from her crying, she saw a well full of water. (Uncover the case of water.) They had nothing to worry about! God was with them the whole time! And we don t have to worry either! When we wake up in the middle of the night and it s dark, or when it thunders during a storm, or when we feel alone or so sad that we cry, we need to remember that God s got it. He s watching out for us all the time. So you don t have to worry because God always hears you! HISTORYTELLER: Who s got it? God s got it! Say it with me. Who s got it? HISTORYTELLER: That s the truth, friends! You better believe it. HISTORYTELLER: You Got it! 4 SFX: How Great is our God? Bring volume down to signify prayer time. HISTORYTELLER: Let s pray. Heavenly Father, we DO believe that You hear us and give us what we need! When we re scared or sad or tired or feel alone, help us to remember that You are with us, just like You were with Hagar and her son. Thank You for loving us. In Jesus name, amen.
