Mark 10:14 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:5-9

2 Youth of Yesterday will meet for lunch at Meadowbrook Village on Wednesday, April 13, starting with coffee at 10:30 with lunch to follow. Rev. Steve Donavon will lead us in a devotional. The first graders from Calvin Christian School will provide music. Cost for the lunch is $7, and if you plan to attend please sign the sheet on the counter in the foyer. Housing needed for 13 students from Trinity Christian College's Honors Ensemble Trinity Christian College s Ensemble will participate in our song service Sunday, May 1. Here is what is needed: We need 3 homes for women (7 students: one family willing to host 3, and 2 families willing to host 2). We need 2-3 homes for men (6 students: either two families willing to host 3, or three families willing to host 2). This would be following worship on Sunday evening, May 1 and would include breakfast on Monday, May 2. Following breakfast, the students need to be dropped off at church so they can continue their tour. If you could help with housing a couple of Trinity Christian College students, please call Audrey Young Peoples: Last month it was Sophomore Class Night. The Sophomores gave a lesson on the struggles of high school and how we are to trust in God in any and all circumstances.

Welcome Back! Pieternella is the youngest of 6 children. She grew up in South Holland and moved to the US in 1939. She moved with her husband Joe to Chula Vista.

3 Welcome Back! Pieternella is the youngest of 6 children. She grew up in South Holland and moved to the US in She moved with her husband Joe to Chula Vista. They worked for her brother milking cows. In 1960, they moved to Escondido and built their own dairy in Harmony Grove. She has 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grand child. She used to be a member at this church, but moved to Colorado with some of her children and grandchildren. She is now back in sunny California. She loves to crochet and puzzle. She just celebrated her 101st birthday. Nelly is the 2nd of 5 children. She loves to sew, do yard work, crochet and shop. She use to work in a fabric store, but now takes care of her mother. She loves spoiling her nieces and nephews. She loves being back in California and doesn't miss the Colorado snow.

I am also blessed to have such patient and loving parents, who have raised me into the Christian I am today. Most importantly I am so thankful to God for loving me, despite my sinful nature.

4 Ever since an early age God has always been a major part of my life. I have been extremely blessed to go to the EURC since I was little. God has given me an amazing church family, who were a major part in my spiritual growth. Through Sunday school and catechism classes I was able to learn so much about God and His amazing love. I am also blessed to have such patient and loving parents, who have raised me into the Christian I am today. Most importantly I am so thankful to God for loving me, despite my sinful nature. Christ died for me, so what more can I do but live my whole life for Him and praise Him in everything that I do. I love God and want Him in every aspect of my life. I am so happy that I was able to publically profess Christ as my savior and to become apart of such an amazing church...corrie My name is Mark. I was baptized by Rev. Cammenga on Feb. 15, 18 years ago. It was neat to have him come through & welcome me as a professing member on Feb. 14 when I made my public profession of faith. I have been raised in this church my entire life. I attended school at Calvin Christian for kindergarten & first grade. After that our family began homeschooling. I have always loved science and technology. This May, I will be graduating high school. After graduation I plan to continue taking college courses at Palomar; I started taking computer courses there two years ago. This past fall I was able to start working part time for my dad, Jerry, doing electrical work a few days a week. It has been a blessing to know the Lord and being able to share with others around me both at college as well as at work. I am thankful to my family & our church for the training in the scriptures & apologetics. I especially enjoyed being a Cadet and appreciated the various leaders who gave of their time to train me. After being a Cadet, I continued as a junior counselor for two years. Now with a heavier load between studies and work, I serve as a sound system operator for our congregation. I would like to thank all the members of this congregation who have given of their time to teach and instruct me through the years to bring me, by God s grace, to this point in my life..mark

5 For he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law...and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10 Annual Pastor Gordon s Widows/ers Luncheon We enjoyed having the widows/widowers come to our home on February 20 and March 5. Joke made a delicious meal for us, and her work is very much appreciated. I especially love to hear the stories this g e n e r a t i o n h a s t o share. They are such a blessing to us and we are grateful for their presence here at the EURC. I want to say thank you to each of you who came to spend lunch with us, you are all such tremendous encouragements to both Chris and myself. Cadet Pinewood Derby On Saturday, March 5, our annual Cadet Pinewood Derby was held in the church social hall.

The cadet boys were divided into three age groups as well within their group.

Crossroads San Marcos also took part in the races once again with their Cadet boys.

6 Cadet Pinewood Derby On Saturday, March 5, our annual Cadet Pinewood Derby was held in the church social hall. This year a total of 53 different racers took part in the mornings events. The races were broken down into two divisions: Cadets and Open divisions. The cadet boys were divided into three age groups as well within their group. Trophies were awarded for top three in each area for speed and show, and the coveted Turkey award was also given out to the least speedy car in both divisions. Crossroads San Marcos also took part in the races once again with their Cadet boys. The noise was roof raising at times, but we made it through the races without the plaster coming of the walls. Thank you to all the boys for taking part in the races and working hard to make your incredible creations. Some of the noted designs this year were; The space shuttle, a hot dog, a shark, an In and Out meal, a canoe, and a tiki pole. Hope everyone had a great time, see you again next year.
