Thank you John, Jon, Heidi and Annette for making our program a huge success. Please bring enough of your favorite side dish to share with others at our April luncheon. The church will provide the meat and bread. The program will be provided by a group of ladies in our church who are involved with the Dress a Girl Around the World ministry. We may even see a dress made right before our eyes. Don t forget to sign up. Just a note from the Handymen Ministry: We have several project requests coming up for our services that will require expenditures. 4 Dress a Girl Around the World We are recipients of Dresses from Dress a Girl Around the World! We would love to lead you through what it's like to receive a special dress and to help you understand what girls around the world really need. We want dignity and to know that God loves us! We want to know that we are worthy of love. Many of us are overlooked and often abused with no one to protect us. When you give God's best dresses, know that for many of us it will be the only new dress we ever own. Please make your very best using quality fabric and ties, as they need to last us a very long time. And PLEASE when you give your dress make sure that it is not so thin that it looks as though we are wearing a nightgown. Our bodies need to be covered and often our skin shows through a thin dress and it is very revealing. We ask that you use a good, sturdy cotton fabric as we are no longer using pillowcases. Please help protect us from predators by allowing us to wear a good quality dress with the Dress a Girl label on the outside. The label indicates that an organization is looking after us and just maybe a predator will pass us over! Isn't it worth the extra time and effort? Even if it just saves one of us? - 4 -

5 A Word From Dan This political season is bringing some of the most important opportunities for the Christian than we have had for years! We must remember that while people are the ones we see on TV and in the political realm, for the Christian, this really is a spiritual confrontation that we must have the Lord s power and insight to overcome. This is one of the most confusing and unsettling elections that we have faced in many years. Many of our politicians are perplexing as they seem to promote information especially formulated to bring us into their camp or just to get our votes. Sometimes they even paint each other as mean, hateful, and evil. And yet, in the middle of all this, we have the fantastic privilege of letting the world see Jesus in us! The Lord has us on the threshold of showing the lost world what a kind, loving, and powerful child of God looks like! Every Christian has the opportunity of showing the peace we find in Christ regardless of what else comes. We can allow our lights to shine brightly because the darkness appears to be getting darker, and we can demonstrate the real love of Christ to those who are not deserving of it. What a wonderful platform to share the good news of Christ! This is also a great occasion for us to take advantage of our prayer war rooms for the purpose of seeking the Lord. Look at this special promise to those who pursue Him in prayer. Jeremiah 29:12-14 NIV 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, "declares the LORD Whatever may come of this election season, we must remember that Jesus is King and He is the Lord of our lives. 6 Upcoming New Hope Group Trips (for all ages) Pennsylvania Dutch Country - June 20-27, 2016 Balance Due May 20 th for those already signed up Only 2 Seats Left We have a great trip planned for June to Pennsylvania! We will visit Lancaster, Hershey, York and Gettysburg plus a stop on our way at Billy Graham Library in Charlotte. The trip is open to anyone (not just New Hope people) so invite your friends. The cost of the trip is $825 per person (2 in a room) or $1135 (single room). $50 deposit holds you a seat. $100 deposit allows you to go ahead and reserve a particular seat on the motorcoach.
