3 Dear Fellow Parishioners, It s hard to believe that we are wrapping up the year 2017 in this Trinitarian. We can reflect on the events of the year by looking at the statistics of sacraments and funerals, or by the financial reports. We can measure the parish s success or failure by attendance at the Holy Services, meetings and events, all of which tell our story in many ways. I will print the statistics of the parish in the next 2018 Trinitarian. I like to reflect on the parish s successes and failures not just on the above criteria, but rather by the amount of lives that were touched by Holy Trinity as a whole. With the addition of a second full-time clergyman in the person of Fr. Patrick; we were able to continue important ministries as well as add programs like Monday School and a more consistent Young Adult Forum which meets twice a month. Fr Patrick has been able to enhance our on line and social media coverage which has brought many inquiries about Orthodoxy and the Church to our offices. I am looking forward to 2018, to see what good things we can accomplish together for the betterment of the parish! We have had a few changes to some major ministries and educational groups this year in the parish. Firstly, the director of our Young at Heart, Cleo Canelos has stepped down after 10 years of wonderful service to the group. Marlene Batsopoulos and Angela Salvarakis have assumed leadership of the Young at Heart. I am so grateful for our group of senior citizens who gather monthly at the church for fellowship and faith. Thank you Cleo! All the best to Marlene and Angela! Our Greek Afternoon School has also gone through a leadership change. As you may know, Evangelia Romoudi and her family moved to Cleveland thus leaving us to choose a new director. We are happy to welcome back Mrs. Irene Pantelaros as the director of the Greek School Programs which include Greek Afternoon School and Adult Greek School which also meets weekly! Thank you Evangelia..and welcome back Irene! An area that I noticed needs more development is our Sunday church attendance. I wrestle with the notion that the god of Sports seasonally outweighs the Lord our God when it comes to Sunday mornings. I understand it having raised a daughter who loved Soccer. I fought that battle too. But let s keep things in perspective. Sports are for now.being an Orthodox Christian is forever. We need to educate our children well in the Faith for the years that we can be influential in their lives. We want Orthodoxy to be a Faith for a lifetime. I am deeply grateful to our Parish Board and all the Committees and parishioner volunteers that work within its framework to produce successful events; our Greek Festival our Annual Gala.our Pentecost Panygiri and more. I take personal pride in the work of our Philoptochos and their satellite ministries feeding the homeless.helping those most in need; all strongholds in the success of our Parish. May God grant you all many years! In closing, please help me by identifying and inviting those whom you know are unchurched to Holy Trinity. Reach out and help us grow the Community s strong base. Let s bring our God to all nations; in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Paternally,

11 The Saint Nicholas Giving Tree Holy Trinity Youth and Young Adult Ministries My dearest Young People; Seeing that Christmas is a time for giving, and St. Nicholas brought so many gifts to the poor and needy children, I wanted to continue that beautiful tradition here in our church. Let's gather as many gifts as we can for the needy children of our area. This Sunday, after your Sunday School program or next Friday following Greek School, Youth Dance., or Mommy and Me, go down to the Bulletin Board in the Foyer and "pick a card" off the St. Nicholas Giving Tree. Follow the instructions and return your gift and place it under the Christmas tree in the Church on or by Sunday, December 17 th. The gifts will be distributed to the needy children of our area through several different programs. It will be the event this Christmas that makes "giving better than receiving" as we prepare for God's gift of Christ into our lives and hearts. Everyone in the Community is welcome to participate. Here's how the program works: Please go out and buy a new toy worth about $15.00 to $20.00 for a boy or a girl Wrap the toy and stick the label that are available in the Church foyer. (Be sure to mark the label) Bring the toy to church with you on Sunday and place it under the Christmas tree. All toys need to be under the tree on or by Sunday, December 17, 2017

13 Nearly 50 parishioners and friends walked in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on October 15, Our team of walkers and supporters, Holy Trinity GO New Ro, raised more than $11,000. This year we walked in memory of Linda Kyriakos Faustini and in support of all who have been affected by breast cancer. We kicked off our walk with a blessing at the top of the hill by Fr. Patrick, Deacon Simon and Seminarian Demitrios. We carried several Greek flags along the route and enjoyed the 5K walk on an unseasonably balmy day. More than 20,000 walkers from across Westchester County participated, raising $1.2M for the American Cancer Society. Donations are still coming in and will be accepted through the end of the year. You may donate on line at: and enter team name Holy Trinity GO New Ro. Thank you to all participants and supporters for making this our most well attended and successful walk!
