3 Baptist Resigns Pastor Church The pastor of Calvary Baptist Church on South Franklin Road for the past five and one-half years, the Rev. Fred W. Reece, Sunday morning tendered h i s resignation to the congregation at the conclusion of the service. In a voice filled with emotion, the popular 45-year-old minister told the congregation he had ac-: cepted a call to become pastor of Sea Gate Baptist Church at J Wilmington. A former resident of High Point the visiting pastor was ordained in 1956 by Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. He has served several churches in the state, and while in Mt. In the afternoon the congregation will enjoy stnging; Plans are to have different singing groups participating. The following groups are expected: The Sunshine Trio from Mt. Airy, the Jublairs quartet from Winston-Salem, and also the following local groups: The Calvary Trio, The Shady Grove Quartet, and the Falls Creek Quartet. Dewey Bullin will preside in the afteroon. The annual Revival will begin Sunday night at 7:30 and continue until Oct. 18. The speaker for both the Homecoming service and the Revival will be Rev. Fred Reece, a "home - town" boy. He is pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Boone. Rev. Reece serves in an outstanding way among Baptists in North Carolina. He has served on the General Board of the Baptist State Convention.
