Matthew 16:19 My Dear Parishioners, Here are some more of my scattered thoughts Who is Jesus for you? Faith in Jesus opens ourselves to God s love. Our faith must be based on Jesus not on the Church. Who Jesus is for you and for me will ground our faith. 2. I would like to thank all those who came for our St. Felicitas Community Outdoors Cleanup last Saturday. We got a lot done but there is still more to be done to keep our grounds clean and beautiful. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. I think we had fun too! 3. The first 5 parking spaces in our parking lot are reserved for Staff Only on Mondays through Fridays. Please do not park in these spaces. Our staff needs to be able to be in the office to help and serve our parishioners so we need to guarantee that they have a place to park. 4. Welcome back to our teachers and students of St. Felicitas School. Summer if over and school has begun. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and I wish you the best in the coming months. 5. Almost 40 years ago, the Bishops of the United States wrote a Pastoral Letter on Racism. Among the many things they discussed was the fact the Racism is a sin: a sin that divides the human family, blots out the image of God among specific members of the family, and violates the fundamental human dignity of those called to be children of the same Father. Racism is still a problem today. Too often we are apt to group people as either us or them. When we see another as one of them, we tend to act out of fear fear of the unfamiliar fear of being harmed. This is the start of racism. Let us come together in the love of Christ to better know one another as sisters and brothers. Let us be more tolerant of others. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. (John 13:34) 5. Please remember to take the bulletin home. There have been several changes made. We offer classes for children in Kindergarten through 6 th grade on the following days: Tuesday 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. or Sundays 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Junior High students (7 th and 8 th grade) meet on Monday from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. If you have not registered your child there is still time. We will be available after the 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Masses on September 10th in the vestibule to take registrations, or please contact Sandi at to make arrangements to complete the necessary forms to enroll your child for classes. You must be registered to attend. Perhaps you ve been coming to Mass for a while, but are not Catholic. Perhaps you have a friend who asks questions about your religion. Perhaps you were baptized a Catholic but have never been confirmed or received Eucharist. If so, we invite those interested to look deeper into the Catholic faith. St. Felicitas will begin a series of meetings to share with others the truths of what it means to be a Catholic. The process is described as a faith journey and is known as the RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. A new session will begin in September. Initial meetings will give us a chance to meet you, to answer questions and to give you an overview of the RCIA process e.g. class schedule, dates, topics, etc. Please call the Parish Office for further information.

5 LLAMADO POR NOMBRE Jesús nunca le quita a Pedro las llaves del Reino de los Cielos, aún después que Pedro lo negó durante su Pasión. La llamada de Jesús es inmutable, como una piedra. Y así es con cada uno de nosotros. En el Bautismo, una de las preguntas que el sacerdote o celebrante hace es: " qué nombre quieren darle al niño?" Al renacer de las aguas del Bautismo, en el nombre de Jesús, recibimos la llamada de Dios para vivir en la luz de Cristo. Nuestra llamada es irrevocable. No podemos hacer nada para borrar la llamada personal de Dios. Aun cuando debamos negar a Cristo mismo, como Pedro lo hizo, el Señor continúa amándonos y deseando nuestro amor a cambio. Los niños y niñas que inician su Primer Año de preparación, deberán presentar una copia del certificado de bautismo y la cuota de colaboración. Niños y niñas en el Segundo Año de preparación también deben inscribirse, cuota de inscripción y presentar copia del certficado de bautismo, si el año pasado omitieron este requisito. El Primer día de catequesis será el Ocho de Ocubre. Las clases se imparten en días Domingos de las 11 A.M. a las 12:15 P. M. Las formas de inscripción se repartirán en la plaza del templo. Las formas de inscripción para la Jornada de Preparación para la Confimación, se distribuirán a partir del Domingo 8 de Octubre y las clases se iniciaran el 5 de Noviembre.
